They freak out about this, but yet they let them dress up as other things. The bar/restaurant that I go to every Tuesday does a kids night and last night they let them dress up in their costumes. I got up to go to the bathroom and there was a heard of kids blocking my path. I glance down to make sure that I was I wasn't going to knock one of them over and I notice that one of them was dress up like Snookie, right down to the poof wig. Seriously, they have a problem with that, I'd have more of a problem with my daughter dressing up like a drunk, orange troll more than anything.

There really ought to be some adult assigned to supervise these kids and monitor their purchases, activities, etc until they're at least 18. Preferably a pair of adults, maybe with some personal stake in the kids future.

/daughter never went for tart costumes, just the usual princess stuff.

I remember on Halloween in elementary school a bunch of girls came as French maids... And this was in the 80's.

The 11 yo in me thought they looked pretty but my mom was pretty disgusted.

And there is NOTHING tart-y about a little girl dressing up as a kitty cat. Unless she has a bare midriff or something.

The truly stupid part is that all of those costumes cover more skin than most parents allow their daughters out in daily. Way to be outraged over something you don't pay attention to the rest of the damn year.
