And this is why we should go back to wearing real fur.

I'm sure washing machine manufacturers will be thrilled to develop Eco-friendly models with outrageously expensive filters that have to be replaced frequently.

I'm sorry but ladies who work in offices like their acrylic cardigans from the mall.

I have no idea why.

"The most contaminated samples came from areas with the highest human population density, suggesting that cities were an important source of the lint."

Woah! Now that was an unexpected result.

FTFA: Browne.... argues that the fibers are "guilty until proven innocent" and says that textile and washing machine manufacturers, as well as sewage treatment plants, should be looking for ways to keep the fibers out of the ocean.

Not exactly a scientifically defensible attitude, but useful if one is looking for new sources of grant money...

Much like Hollywood, the Eco-Nazis are running out of ideas.

Really? Laundry lint?

Develop a bacterium that eats polyester. Then develop a fast-acting bacterium so we can spray it on girls at parties.

(In reality the bacterium would be patented and the sole manufacturer would get a law passed requiring all makers of polyester to buy it at a dollar per cell for a non-reproducing version and the net result would be some gene splicer gets rich and the beaches are coated with slightly smaller strands of fabric.)

not exactly?
how about totally bullshiat science?
esp since you can never prove that lint doesnt cause anything bad to happen to any creature?
I wonder how clams and other filter feeders deal with lint?
What about worms?

indigestible fiber anyone?

And then a mite which eats the bacteria. And then a spider that eats the mite. And then ... . And then the first freeze will kill off the gorillas!

clearly we need a way to clean up this MASSIVE pollution. it is destroying all life on the planet. we should increase taxes and cut back on ALL artificial fiber clothing and cloth until it is completely under control!!
