Good for the kid that the dealership didn't crawfish on it and actually paid up, even bending the rules to do so (and get more than $10k worth of PR).

Nice to see the hometown represented on Fark in a capacity that's not about strippers, drunkenness or border-crossing snafus.

And even went so far as to make sure that they could award the prize in a way that wouldn't affect his amateur status in the future. Nicely done.

How nice that it all worked out in a civilized fashion, Canada-style.

If this had happened in the United States, the boy would now be in foster care, father would be in prison and lawyers would have all the prize money and be owed $5,000 more.

Don't ask me how. I just know.

It's a Ford dealership? You could get $10k off of a sale or lease just by haggling.

There does not exist a vehicle built by ford which is worth more than 10 grand.

Chupacabra Sandwich: Does he lose his eligibility to play college golf?

No. The rules allow winning hole-in-one contests.

Since the kid is so young, I'm sure an OSU football player received a portion of the cash prize

No need to drag his drunken border-crossing stripper mom into all this.
