This has been going on since the 50s. In 1953 the bottom 90% controlled 2/3rds of the wealth in the US. It's only gone downhill since then.

So yeah, not news.

Couple this with the banks and the telecoms getting off scot free for their many crimes, and you'd think people would start to get pissed off about it.

When wealth trickles down on you in such abundance, it is a good thing to get hosed off.

The wealth accumulating at the top is now surely in a metastable state. If we cut their taxes just a little bit more, the wealth will finally start raining down on the plebs.

they've been socially conditioned by the corporate media's brainwashing using their faith and patriotism against them.

the GOP has always been the party of the super-wealthy. their genius, though, was getting poor, southern, evangelicals to vote for them against their own interests. aka "the southern strategy." guns, god, and gays. brilliant!

only now, those southern evangelicals, known today as the tea party, are in charge and are willing to do crazy shiat like cause us to default on our debt obligations, which scares the hell out of old school wall street republicans. it's kinda funny...

Yes. My father was caught in this in the 80s. Think 'Allentown' by Billy Joel. Except replace 'Allentown' with Dansville and 'coal' with manufacturing.

We were so poor that we ended up driving a $300 school bus with all of our belongings out to Arizona so he could deliver penny savers and welding until he met enough people to begin to make enough money to pay rent as a mechanic.

I'll ever forget how fun it was to be torn from the small town and forced to move to the desert- away from everyone and everything I knew. All because his job kept laying him off and hiring him back for less and less.

The shiatty thing is, he finally got a job at Motorola. At this time, it was the biggest employer in the state. Hell, I worked there in the saw room. We both did. It was going to be a career. But then they laid off many and shut it down and laid everyone off- including him. So he moved out to the desert to start anew, got a little education and worked in a huge manufacturing plant and was ... laid off all over again.

I've never seen big corporations the same. I've never known a harder worker than my dad. And he was treated like nothing for it. F(ck those who think it matters how hard you work.

well...corporations cared because they knew that a happy employee was a loyal employee. they worked longer hours, stayed healthier longer, and didn't run out the door and sell trade secrets to the competition via anonymous information exchanges hosted in obscure hong kong server farms.

soon as corporations realized they could just import slave labor from overseas they told the US workers to f*ck off. the best part? CEOs got rank and file Republican voters to believe that questioning corporate decisions was 'communism'. THAT was sheer brilliance on their part.

The tea party is about earning money through hard work. They stand for a country run by a president who follows the constitution. Ron Paul will be the 2012 Republican nominee and he will own Obama in every debate.

No, dummy. Liberals don't have jobs, so they don't have skin in the game, and thus shouldn't be listened to.

Unless they have jobs, then they're limousine liberals talking down from their elitist ivory towers, and thus shouldn't be listened to.

Either way, libruls bad.

Ron Paul is like your cooky old uncle. At first he seems pretty reasonable, but once you've listened to him for 30 minutes you realize he lost it a long time ago and needs to be sent to a senior home.
