If he can't make ends meet on that salary, he shouldn't be CEO in the first place.

Unless you are someone that does things for society and such with your money, I always believed that the maximum of "sitting in the bank" money shouldn't exceed 5 millions.

Just the yearly 2 % interest on that can give most people one heck of a good life.

I can't find it right now, but this guy's compensation was mentioned in an article about CEO compensation at struggling companies that I read a few days ago. I have to wonder if the compensation committee did this in the wake of that media attention.
