Boys are already whores.

But what about the ones that start reproducing through budding?

If you're 28, you probably already have HPV. Sorry.

I'm wondering if I should get it. The wife does like a little licky licky, but I'm pretty sure she's not sleeping around, so how would I get it from her?

Maybe not whores, but definitely retarded. Noted public health experts Michele Bachmann and Jenny McCarthy told me so.

FTFA: "...whether to recommend routinely vaccinating boys and young men against sexually transmitted forms of human papillomavirus, the cause of mostsome cervical and anal cancers as well as most some mouth and throat cancers."

FTFY... Only a few strains can lead to cancer and only in susceptible people.

Also, HPV has many strains and even the one's labeled "sexually transmitted" can be transmitted non-sexually, so vaccination of males and females make good sense.

As for "parental concern" that receiving the vaccine will cause the kiddies turning into sluts, just spin it as another routine vaccination, without making a big deal out of it preventing them from getting warts on their junk.

cgraves67: I'm wondering if I should get it. The wife does like a little licky licky, but I'm pretty sure she's not sleeping around, so how would I get it from her?

A bit of research I did (back when considering whether this would be pointful for my (now toddler) son) suggests said licky licky can indeed transmit HPV. So it's probably useful even if one doesn't fancy the lads (NTTAWWT).

Maybe not. These are farkers we're talking about. Sexual activity is a prerequisite of contracting HPV.

That's generally the rule, but not having very many sexual partners is a boon in this case

I suppose I should clarify. I'm wondering if women can get HPV from ways other than sexual transmission. If so, then both of us should get the vaccine, because surely if she gets it then I am doomed as well.

2011-10-25 12:13:10 PM
Either HPV is a major health problem or it isn't. If it is, then everyone needs to be vaccinated, not just women. That having been said, your chances of getting HPV are miniscule if you aren't sleeping around, and only a tiny percentage of women actually die from it. The threat is a bit overblown, at least to the point of vaccinating girls under 16 or so. Yes, incidently, anal sex is FAR more likely to transmit any STD than vaginal sex, however the gays should be a bit more worried about AIDS than HPV. Average life expectancy of a gay male is like 25 years less than that of a hetero male.

2011-10-25 12:13:44 PM
...and we care what the CDC recommends, why? No weight of law, so who cares?

Don't want forced vaccinations? Go talk to your state legislature, who are the ones who would "force" your kids to get shots.

Yeah, this bugs me too. Especially since I'm uncircumcised and it is now becoming clear that the link between uncircumcised guys and penile cancer is due to HPV. I might go ahead and get it anyway, but it is like $700 or more when not covered by insurance.

The only reason they're not doing older people is because they haven't done the testing on it. I understand that testing is important, but it sucks that there are people that are going to get preventable cancers while they delay the availability.

Let alone the fact that cervical cancer is way way way down on the list of cancers that someone can get, its actually laughable (well as much as cancer is funny which it isn't but you get the drift) how much screening is done regarding it. Doctors should be doing full body checks for abnormal moles than worry about cervical cancer.

I wonder if there was a HIV vaccine if people would be against mandatory inoculations like with HPV.

Probably, but they would be idiots. The Hep B vaccine is already mandatory, I think, and it is also only transmitted via sexual or blood contact.

It isn't just your penis you need to be worried about. HPV is slowly moving into first place for causes of throat and mouth cancer now that smoking related cancers are decreasing.

I am imagining a world in which HPV vaccines given to males result in the subsequent inoculation of every one of their sex partners. Turn men into human vaccine injectors.

People are against vaccines because of Autism and stuff like that. People are against mandatory vaccines for a very different reason.

But keep pretending, it makes it so much easier on you.

This is just another ploy to make society afraid of the penis. HPV, it's an unspoken truth, is inert in males and cannot be transmitted. Society's casual/encouraging attitude toward lesbian experimentation has led to a virus ideally suited to such a social environment, and the feminist propaganda wing is suppressing any data to the contrary.

Are there other vaccines for things which are prevented by choice?

Do seat belts cause reckless driving? Do safety harnesses cause construction workers to jump off buildings?

Wiki says it's possible but not very common. But the only good reasons to not get an available vaccine are cost and safety concerns. Cost may be an issue, especially for men where insurers and/or health departments may not want to cover it. I haven't seen any nontrivial safety issues from Gardasil, yet.

Dan Savage has a good retort for males who insist being gay is a choice: prove it by making the choice and fellating him.

HawkEyes: Do seat belts cause reckless driving?

Yes, actually. So do lower speed limits and bicycle helmets. The human brain is pretty adept at shooting good intentions in the foot.
