The longer this goes on, the more I'm convinced Cain's trolling the fark out of the GOP. Look at that grin at the end of the ad. It just screams "can you believe people are buying this shiat?"

Cain's rise in popularity is the end of the long, strange trip undertaken by the American Conservative. In Cain we have the embodiment of the conservative psyche. He is a businessman that believes he alone made himself successful, without the help of workers. He is a man with no sense of social justice, quick to dismiss Muslims and foreigners as less then human, yet willing to play the victim card as a Christian at the drop of a hat. His ideas lack any type of rational thought, yet to question them means you are insulting the man, not discussing his ideas. His job as a motivational speaker is a secular preacher, who uses his words to enrich himself. He lacks an understanding of the world outside of not just America, but outside of his personal bubble he has created for himself. The only thing that confuses pundits and 3 rates minds is that he is a Southern black man.

Exactly what I thought. He's trolling.

I have been saying this for a long time. Herman Cain has to be trolling. I mean he keeps just saying what he think the Tea Partiers want to hear. So much so that he provides different sides to an issue in one sentence like the abortion thing. I don't think he really wants to win at all. I think as a business man he saw that if he just spouted all kinds of talking points like shiara law and such he could make some dough. I don't think he thought that he would actually be a frontrunner at all. I don't know if it is just his mannerisms or what but he never seems serious to me.

Also, that Block dude looks like someone. Who is it?

GWLush: I think as a business man he saw that if he just spouted all kinds of talking points like shiara law and such he could make some dough.

Yes.

This explains his lack of campaign staff in several of the major states, and his decision to spend time promoting his book instead of campaigning.

He's take Trump's act to the next level.

Maybe it's just the mustache, but I'm thinking John Bolton.

He's literally blowing smoke. Dude is shaking his head "NO" while he speaks. There's no way this is for real.

I loved the 80's montage music at the end of the ad.

Cain's campaign now officially led by Nathan Thurm.

Despite how ill-advised this is, it's also kinda creepy. I can't quite put the right words to it, though.

Honestly, it sorta looks like it has the production values of Reagan-era TV.

It's a cut at Obama being a smoker.

So when anti- smoking people start screaming, they can say 'but but Obama..'

Dude shakes his head a lot, seemingly to negate everything he's saying.

Epic trolling.

What is with his slow motion smile at the end?

/If the goal of an ad is to create buzz and get people talking about the ad and the candidate, then this is brilliant.

that is the funniest political ad I've ever seen. Tim and Eric or Mr. Show couldn't have done it better.

Mostly because you have to be stoned out of your gourd to make any sense out of anything they make.

"I have read it."

He's a token minority in the same vein as Michael Steele.

He's like Michael Steele, but without Michael Steele's miniscule political smarts.

Really? That is what this is about? Why spend time and effort going after Obama: The smoker? To me it is just a weird ad that makes no sense that Cain supporters will read whatever they like into it.

It means that he is a dragon and he will slay Obama. It means that he is a chimney and he will keep Santa Clause out. It means that the world is on fire and Cain is the fireman. It's Cain's white album.

If you know anything about smoke signals you can clearly see that it spells out, "I am the walrus".

It's a brilliant ad. He looks cool, rebellious - like he won't be afraid to stick it to those Washington elites. And then they cut to that creepy Obama lookalike at the end, with his leering smile, and you're like "I'm definitely voting for that cool smoking guy!"

Odd that they would overlay the audio through a slowdown smoking drag. But its the increasingly creepy smile at the end that provides that extra touch.

violentsalvation: That can't be real, can it?

I had thought personal campaign ads had to have the candidate identify him/herself and personally approve the message. That may not apply to primaries though--I'm not sure.

well if rick perry has already cornered the market for "candidate you'd most want to have a beer with" then i guess it kind of makes sense for cain to make a play for "candidate you'd most want to sneak off for a quick cigarette break with"

Oh, Cain's nice and tight with RJ Reynolds.

Cue the ad where Perry chain smokes until he pukes. Then cut to a close up of him watery eyed with a crooked smile.

On a certain conservative webshiate (sic) that shall remain nameless, they are comparing it to a speech made in Demolition Man.

i think cain is there because some idiotic gop stratergerist (some clown like rove) thought that it would be a good idea to get an african-american with blatantly loony tunes ideas (particularly economically) front and center
