You have to admit, the ability to ignore reality seems to be a major qualification for being President these days.

With a platform like this, Newt has this puppy all locked up.

I worked for Gingrich in 1992, raising money for GOPAC, his political action committee. During fundraisers at homes in the Washington area, he would whisper something in the ear of a sweet young thing and they would disappear for 30-45 minutes.

In a more perfect world in which the intellectual achievements and career accomplishments of candidates received the attention and respect they deserved, and where Gingrich had not already squandered his moral credentials many times over, he'd be right, except I'd include Housman among the legitimate candidates. Unfortunately for him, his moral squalor alone invalidates his presidential aspirations, and his intellect counts for nothing in a party that encourages borderline retarded people like Bachmann and Perry to run for office.

If the GOP had any sense they would elect Huntsman. He may not be as insane as they prefer but he has the best chance of beating Obama.
