I like to use Pledge. The alcohol keeps them happy, the wax keeps them regular, and they smell lemony fresh afterwards.

If you have not tried cocaine on sore gums let me assure you that the vintage advertisment's claim of "instantaneous cure" is 100% accurate.

Ain't No Party Like A Tea Party: What ever happened to whiskey for a teething kid?

My baby son will be teething soon, and I get the glare-and-hiss treatment from my wife whenever I mention whiskey.

Hell, it worked for me. Gave me a nice taste for a good Scotch later in life, too.

Teething, colic, crankiness, back talking, methadone cures them all!

Living in a hotel room, eh? Looks like there are members of the Occupy demographic pretty much everywhere...

Paregoric is the traditional method. It's what I got as a baby.

Erma Bombeck has the greatest quote - I am working from memory but she called he mother and complained about the kid being unhappy from teething. Her mother suggested a little whiskey over the gums. Her comment was "I did this and I felt great!"

Paregoric worked for all 4 of my kids..

My Scottish mother--a fully trained Registered Nurse--used whisky.

Now I am a well-adjusted, fully-functioning drunk member of society. With a bottle of 21 year-old Glenlivet in the cabinet.

Cocaine in MY open sores? It's more likely than you think.

/ Meth causes it. Cocaine cures it. The circle of trailer park life continues

Just put a little Oragel on it. No more than 4 times a day, but that stuff will numb the crap out of their gums and is perfectly safe.

"A Phoenix boy, 2, is rushed to the hospital after he stopped breathing. At the hospital, it's discovered the toddler has methadone in his system. Police say someone gave the boy the drug after he complained of pain in his gums and teeth."

This article is written strangely. It reads like a transcript of the beginning of an episode of Cold Case Files.

My Mom used to give me paregoric.
Until my Dad told her what it was.

It's all the rage in local TV news writing. You go out of your way to avoid the active voice. My recent favorite was "A suspected burglar is dead after being shot and killed by the owner of the St. Louis home he was allegedly burglarizing."
