The best part of killing your own children is that it's fun to make more.

America has the worst record of child abuse in the industrialized world.

I'm assuming they're not including China in that.

Many studies suggest that mothers abuse and kill their infants and children at a higher rate than fathers. (This is probably due to the fact that women and mothers are more often the caregivers, so they have more overall contact with children -- both good and bad -- and are therefore overrepresented in child abuse cases.)

Post-partum depression, anyone? I'm led to believe that that's the source of instain mothers who kill thier babbies.

/poor babbies can't even frigth back?

Over half of all pregnancies in the US are unplanned.

Let that guide you when you RTFA.

At least America is having kids. Birth rates in the other industrialized nations are lower.

I'm going to go ahead and deflect criticism of America by pointing out that in China, a 2 year old was run over several times by various people and left to die as passersby ignored or deliberately avoided helping.

The baby died a couple days after this occurred.

Birth control and sex ed. are things most people have no problems with. It's when you bring in the morally dubious option that it gets weird.

I've never even looked to see if there was a way that I could submit one. It's not important to me that I get the "Fark Greenlight" badge.

"Idiocracy" is fast becoming reality.

A while back in a documentary thread, several folks extolled "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia" so I checked it out.

I was disgusted over and over, and I'm a fairly openminded chick whose hung out and partied with trailer park denizens and millionaires, literally. The baby that was in her basinette while her mama snorted? And then was barhopping days later while her baby was in state custody for having drugs in her system? That "mama" should have her twat sewn shut. Permanently.

Sorry. Feel very strongly about this kind of thing.

I tried the scouts, but when they started pushing their religion bullshiat on the first day I left.

I think our decades as the richest country has been to our detriment here. In emerging economies, the only thing for kids to do after school is homework, etc. American kids have Wiis, Playstations, personal computers, cell phones, and just goof off until they fall asleep.

So, if my theory holds, as American families become poorer and are no longer able to buy time wasting gadgets for their snowflakes, academic performance will improve.

That's actually not that unusual, and certainly isn't limited to the Chinese. It is just another case of the Bystander Effect

The scouts are religious? Not the scouts I was in and not any of the kid that continued to participate through Eagle.

I wonder if America's "Christian" approach towards children (i.e., that it's okay to beat them in the name of "discipline") contributes to abuse?

I must have grown up in a weird part of the country where the scouts are not religious and christian kids werent beat in the name of discipline.

I am lucky I guess.

Americans have been so obsessed with "Tab A goes into slot B or C?" that the kids feel unsupervised and make a government of their peers...which leads to Idiocracy eventually. There seems to be a lack of impetus for excellence...

I think I may be turning into a Nihilist....

Mine weren't either, though I was eventually asked to leave and not come back. Apparently after a year or two you're supposed to at least be a tenderfoot or something. Though to be fair my scout leader had warned me before hand I would be asked to leave if I had failed to make a certain level by a certain time.

Christianity was very much a part of boy scouts when I joined. I didnt dig it so I left.

"The Boy Scouts of America (BSA), one of the largest private youth organizations in the United States, has policies which prohibit atheists and agnostics from membership in its Scouting program..."

The reason that the USA is number one because they have the best system for detecting and reporting abuse. Most other countries just don't report it or ignore the abuse.

Yeah, I didn't have a lot of 'jesus' or 'beatings' in my scouts. It was lot of meetings and cookies and camping.
