Not a first. Flipper was the Robert Crane of the marine mammal world.

The belugas at the Mystic Aquarium are just beautiful, my dad lived in the area and we used to go all the time. I've spent more than an hour at their tank quite a few times. Hump away!!!

I used to love going to Sea World when my family all had annual passes. If you hung out downstairs at the dolphin pool (the underwater viewing area), you'd eventually see them getting...frisky. The little kids would ask their parents what all the thick ropes of "milk" were doing in the pool. If you were really lucky you got to see one of the adolescent males try a swim-by raping of one of the females (or sometimes not one of the females).

His trip to Connecticut involved two truck transfers and a chartered flight during which he was suspended inside a customized container filled with water.

wonder what the bill was for that move. all those man hours, special equipment, shiatload of people with a shiatload of university degrees running amuck making sure fishguy was okay.

what a story he's going to have to tell when he gets back home.

You and I have largely different views on what we consider being lucky.

Now there's only one thing that acts as an anti-aphrodisiac for dolphins...and that's the meat of baby seal-gulls.

So I want you to go down to the sea-shore, take this sack, fill it with baby sea-gulls, and hurry on back.

/obscure?

While pasty and overweight, I don't know if I'd go so far as to call her a beluga.

So, the skinny ones work with Shamu, I guess.
I'm a lucky person in that I knew and worked with a Sea World veterinarian. He gave me a behind-the-scenes tour one day that was really great. They brought all the animals off exhibit and up in to their cages/holding pens so I could see them. The walrus was amazing! Absolutely huge. Anyway, he told me that Belugas are about the dumbest marine mammals out there, and judging from what I saw of them he was right. Also, he didn't idolize any marine mammal; they were all animals to him. I guess he was old school.

Belugas like big butts, and they can not lie.

Could have been worse. The beluga could have known that feeding seagulls to the porpoises made them immortal, and have captured a few. And the porpoises could have been residing where a tired, sleepy lion was resting

. Then when the beluga carried the seagulls past the lions, the charges would have been transporting gulls across staid lions for immortal porpoises.

FTFA flown halfway across the country

890 miles is halfway across the country? In the Western part of the US we call that "going to grandma's."

I saw the belugas banging at the Georgia Aquarium once. The male was swimming around, having sex with all the females except one. She was covered in scars. I guess she was too ugly for him.

It's good that the lions finally got some sleep after the yeast treatments kept all those noisy birds from building nests in their manes. It works because yeast is yeast, and nest is nest, and never the main shall tweet.

So... a state- owned zoo had a pair of dolphins that they desperately needed to perform in their show, but they only seemed interested in mating. After trying to coax them multiple times, the zookeeper finally calls his assistant over. He tells the assistant that he needs to get these dolphins to quit... uh, screwing around, but they simply won't do it. He had heard that baby seagulls, however, were an excellent anti- aphrodisiac for dolphins, so he told the assistant to go to the aviary over on the other side of the zoo, and fetch some baby seagulls. The assistant heads off to the aviary, and gets the seagulls. On his way back, however, there was a huge lion sleeping in the middle of the path. The assistant stops for a moment and ponders how to cross this obstacle, but then he decides to just gently step over the lion. He does so, and then takes a couple steps away, when a policeman yells at him to stop. The cop tells him he's under arrest. When the assistant asks what the charge is, the cop says "transporting young gulls across the state's lion for immoral porpoises."
