Possibly, but Mike Myers did once say that he borrowed the glasses from Michael Caine in an interview.

Still: he (Peter Asher) looks to be about as generic a Carnaby Street urchin as you could get, so it is also plausible.

George is something like 16 or 17 years old in that photo. Amazing.

Peter Asher's Wiki page says he says Mike Meyer used Asher's 60's look for Austin Powers, so yeah, baby, yeah!

I used to listen to Peter and Gordon (new window) when I was a pre-teen. The song, "A World Without Love" topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. in June, 1964.

"A World Without Love" was written by McCartney, but John Lennon hated it and refused to let the Beatles perform it. So Paul gave it to his girlfriend's brother.

Please let Peter know I met his sister recently (she sold me a cake) and even though she's got to be in her 60's, I'd let he check out the cream in my eclair.

The photo appears to be a meeting at Apple headquarters at 3 Saville Row. It has to be shortly after the Beatles bought the building, which is why there's no furniture (I believe they discussed keeping it that way).

I'm pretty sure (65%) MM took the look for Powers from an older spy movie series. I can't remember the name, but I seem to recall seeing such a movie at one point that included a character remarkably similar to Austin Powers in design. From the "look" of the film, I'm thinking it must have been made in the 70s or early 80s.

The similarity to Ashton is, however, quite remarkable.

What does her age have to do with whether you'd do her brother or not?

Looks like we found James May's Fark handle:

And indeed, she's still a right dolly bird.

It would have been nice for them to mention what the documentary was.

Peter and Gordon had a bunch of great songs and I love "Go To Pieces" which was originally by Del Shannon.

Part Asher, part Caine (which includes the exploding car scene in the third film), and 100% groovy, baby!
