I've been on a boat in Annapolis (where this was shot) when these guys practice and during the graduation fly-over. It's a blast. Too bad a few of them dropped below the limit at the show before graduation and got grounded. Not scheduled for USNA again until 2013.

I love what these guys do. I take great vicarious delight in watching the skill with which they operate. Something about The Blue Angels always makes me feel like a toddler again.

If I were riding I would definitely be barfing though. Hell, I got constantly seasick on a submarine.

This was during one of their Commencement weekend performances, either the practice or the actual show.

I was thinking throughout the video "Wait, are they over Annapolis?" Then at 2:19 I recognized Farragut Field followed by one of the towers at Greenbury Point at 2:27.


Awesome.

If you ever make it down to Pensacola, the Naval Air Museum on base shows this in Imax. My wife had to close her eyes for a bit. Our Ops O came to us after flying lead solo for a tour. I swear he was one of the least cocky pilots on that base.

Probably to demonstrate control over an aerodynamically "dirty" configuration. I've seen them do this in several shows.
