Once again the GOP pulls a stunt that is supposed to be clever but is really just juvenile and inconsequential.

When a story involves politicians and Twitter, I have enough loathing to butter both sides of that bread.

I want communication from all levels of government to be as public as this. Let them bicker in public, it's a start...

Gonna rant here.

I take offense. Let me give you Your Government at work since nobody seems to know what any of that means.

I work for you. I am a federal civilian. I work for the Executive branch.

On a day to day basis, I meet with people of vastly different creeds, races, religions, political beliefs, etc. I consider it a privilege to have learned much of what I know from two black supervisors and to work for a jewish woman currently. I myself am white and my father was USAF. The grand lesson here is that everyone is capable and everyone has something to offer.

Also I am a taxpayer! This may come as some surprise, but I do in fact pay my taxes. Indeed, I consider it my patriotic duty.

My primary motivation is performance. Whatever it is I do, I always feel that I have not done enough. Tomorrow I will do more, I say to myself, and every sunrise finds me pumped to prove the baseline expectation wrong. We can do better than what we're doing, I assure you; a big part of the problem we face currently is the fact that the elderly senior staff by and large hates the digital world and insists on hard-copy records. No lie: I did today in five minutes a task that would have taken at least a week under the old paper-only methods. However, it will take weeks, maybe even months, to train those who came before me. These are people maxed out not just on grade but on step as well; I'm training people who did the work for years and they make almost twice as much as I do because they've been here since before I was in high school. Here's the silly thing: despite the hem and haw about performance, it is never rewarded. And the pay systems designed to reward performance are immediately co-opted by Ye Olde Networke of pals whose only purpose was to inflate their own sense of being. We sing this bastard song and never do anything legitimate to amend our problems. The doers continue to do, and the farkers continue to fark. There's your performance-based pay.

The worst thing I saw in my time so far was the fact that our best worker left for more pay. That's normally to be expected if it is for pay alone. But she was held back due to a hiring freeze implemented because of the crappy economy. The old folks who did dick-all sat on their fatasses while she stewed in place. When she was given an opportunity to play with the fatties (with no more pay, mind), she ran circles around them. She cut and ran from us because in almost three years we couldn't provide her any growth. I feel like Ronald McDonald is running this show. I wish I wanted fries with that.

The next Republican talking point is to insult anyone who disagrees with you.

Is this really the path you wish to follow? It ends poorly.

I would wish for the GOP convention to be stricken with a virulent case of amoebic dysentery coupled with throbbing, aching, bleeding piles but that might not sideline enough actual Congresspeople and Senators for my liking.

you may want to alert Ric Romano about that.

tenpoundsofcheese: sounds like the government is badly run.

Parts of it are. I won't kid around, parts of it are shockingly badly run.

But to think that the answer is the abolition of entire departments? That's beyond absurd.

A bad system is not repaired by bad ideas. A bad system is not repaired by wholesale deletion.

So by "Washington politicians dueling via Twitter hashtags" we mean "Washington Republicans acting like children on Twitter", right? Just to be clear, here? I mean, you wouldn't want someone thinking that you were pushing tired old "BOF SAIDS TEH SAEM" BS, would you, subby?

There's been some pretty good lulz on Twatter. @shiatmydadsays, of course. Then there's @KlugaKardashian, and who can forget @RickSantorumPR? There's also the wonderful pics provided by women in the adult entertainment industry, which is always nice.

Republicans can't wait for the next election, by which time the public brings the guillotine back into use to remove ass-holes who only care about Rich mother-f*ckers.

Just because someone called you a secret Hitler hell-bent on handing the US over to Arab overlords after slaughtering all Christians who refuse to become Mega-Muslims doesn't mean you need to get uppity about it.

I wonder if that person is Rodney's kid brother, Cheese, played famously by Jeremy Piven in the docudrama "Old School".

"I got out" -referring to the dumpster he was rightfully put in.

"For the most part, Republicans are using the hashtag, #WeCantWait, to pressure Senate Democrats to pass House-passed anti-regulation legislation. They claim those bills will grow the economy, quickly, though most experts disagree."

And by 'experts', I'm guessing that's everyone with an IQ over 70?

It's a rhetorical "you" used to indirectly manipulate you into identifying with President Obama more than you might be inclined to if left to your own devices. Duh.

Hey, when only something like 11 or 18% of business owners think regulation is a big problem, that can be interpreted by the GOP to mean it's a real big problem.

Poll: 75% of Americans want the Jobs Bill.
GOP: No, none do.

Poll: Less than 20% of businesses want things de-regulated.
GOP: No, all do.

Poll: Americans overwhelmingly like Jesus.
GOP: We know (evil cock-knobbing grin)
