Something in you eye? Might want to see a doctor about that.

2011-10-24 05:53:20 PM
Oh man he's dying up there

2011-10-24 05:54:25 PM
I'm guessing he's not doing any "Take my wife, please" jokes.

2011-10-24 05:55:23 PM
And what's the DEEEAL with death?

2011-10-24 05:55:35 PM
Take my wife, plea...Oh, nevermind.

/too soon?

2011-10-24 05:55:43 PM
"distracts himself from the sadness"? I never got any of that. He didn't seem sad at all. Who knows, maybe he's glad his wife is dead.

2011-10-24 05:55:52 PM
"Yeah...but I don't get up till 10am"

2011-10-24 05:56:56 PM
The funniest bit was when he did that "I'm coming Elizabeth!" heart attack thing from Sanford and Son at the end.

2011-10-24 05:56:57 PM
Yeah, sounds more to me like he's finally getting to live his life.

And he is instantly funnier than Tracy Morgan.

I bet his jokes aren't as lame as the "I've got something in my eye" meme

Most of my favorite comedians have psychological issues. The "funny guy" of our high school was a rare talent who could get an auditorium packed with cynical, bored Gen-Xers laughing 'til tears rolled down their cheeks. . . he was manic-depressive. My sister was a trusted friend of his and got to see his down moments; they weren't pretty.

Among celebrities there's Craig Kilborn, Graham Chapman. . . OK so it's not everybody, but I think it's pretty common.

Nah, they're all farked up.

Lucille Ball? Philandering husband she couldn't stand.

Jackie Gleason? Fat man who could dance.

Dick Van Dyke? Drunk.

And those are just the classic sitcom stars. The stand up comedians were all farked up.

...except maybe Cosby and Bob Newhart.

Where do you think they get all their material? If they saw the world as everyone else, there wouldn't be anything funny to say.

I loved Lucille (the fact she wasn't a natural comedian i found endearing) Jackie was a funny man in any situation. Dick a drunk? I honestly didn't know that. I just thought he was funny, and I had a crush on his wife.

I don't think Newhart is as much as most. He knows it. That puts him at +1

"I grok people. I am people... so now I can say it in people talk. I've found out why people laugh. They laugh because it hurts so much... because it's the only thing that'll make it stop hurting."

"I had thought - I had been told - that a 'funny' thing is a thing of a goodness. It isn't. Not ever is it funny to the person it happens to. Like that sheriff without his pants. The goodness is in the laughing itself. I grok it is a bravery . . . and a sharing... against pain and sorrow and defeat."

I guess we'll just have to take their word for his comedic talent. Every time he set up a joke they cut away to the annoying news reporter.

I was chatting to a old man at the shops this morning. He's 88, his wife is 87 and they have been married for 67 years. He escaped Poland during the war, worked in a coal mine in Germany till he was too old ( 40 ) and came to Australia with his family....

he was shopping because his wife is sick, and he got all teary telling me about her, it was very very sweet

When my grandmother died, my 90+ year old grandfather distracted himself by quitting his heart meds and dying shortly thereafter. Everyone has their coping mechanisms.

I talked with my Grandmother as she put herself in a diabetic coma, that's all she wanted, for me to love her till the end of love......"Leonard Cohen "Dance Me To The End Of Love" Most of the family thought I was evil for doing her bidding and not sending for any ambulance. She knew what she was doing...she'd always wanted candy. her last words were a drowsy I love you...I know she heard me swear my undying love for her.

With my mother, I quickly learned to not attempt to tell her who I actually am, and just roll with whoever she thought I was at that time.

"Of course I'm not your oldest son. I'm your cousin who was dead 30 years before I was born. How are you today?"

/holy shiat someone please cure that farking disease

Times like these...I can see Fark is PEOPLE!!!

I hope I treat death the way it should be treated when the time comes. Not my death, the death of my loved ones. I am surrounded by wonderful people. Wonderful yet temporary... A sword of damocles for me....

So when exactly does a meme become an idiom?
