Is there some way that is too cruel for him?

cretinbob

Nobody important, but lots of people whose business is to be concerned are probably sincerely upset. Some officials of the talking-but-not-acting part of the UN, Amnesty International, and some officials of the International Criminal Court have complained that a person may have died. Execution under any circumstances and lesser punishment without trial violate fundamental irrevocable (insert string of superlatives here) human rights.

Last I heard he was a Colonel, which would make him a valid military target.

2011-10-24 01:32:18 PM
I think Bashar al-Assad might care a little too.

2011-10-24 01:34:06 PM
I care.

It looked painful and scary as all hell for him. I am glad.

2011-10-24 01:34:59 PM
You bomb your own people, and the get pissed off.

Who knew?

2011-10-24 01:49:47 PM
First you have to prove Khadaffi was human.

2011-10-24 02:19:45 PM
It's funny because that sort of shiat is why he was ousted in the first place.

2011-10-24 02:44:11 PM
For the record, I don't really care either. The man is dead, can we move on now?

2011-10-24 02:55:55 PM
Not many people are going to care how a cruel dictator was killed, unless it was something profoundly gratuitous, something like scaphism.

Aarontology: It's funny because that sort of shiat is why he was ousted in the first place.

He ordered the death of a murderous dictator? Which one?

My only surprise was that they didn't play a soccer game with his head.

/Do they have bowling alleys in Libya?

2011-10-24 03:11:30 PM
I think he jumped in the way of celebratory gunfire.

Given the number of uprisings in the Middle East, I'm pleased that Khadaffi died in what appears to be an execution after he was beat to within an inch of his life. I hope they skullfarked him after and took pictures. I'm also glad his family was largely killed off.

Hopefully his desecrated corpse will serve as a notice to the leaders in Yemen, Syria, and elsewhere that there are two options on how you leave- if you go quietly, you might end with you in a courtroom like Mubarek. Make a fuss and kill your own citizens, then it will end with the bloody corpses of you and your family on CNN.

Hopefully, Ghadaffi's death will serve as an example to others.

lol why dont you tell us how you really feel?

2011-10-24 03:25:57 PM
There was no way in hell he would have survived unless they were 100% sure they could put him to death later. They wanted him gone with absolutely no way back.

2011-10-24 03:26:46 PM
Political power comes from the barrel of a gun.

2011-10-24 03:27:58 PM
He was going to get executed anyway, they actually did him a favor because the torture he would've gone though would've been crazy.

2011-10-24 03:28:50 PM
It would have been nice to put him up for a trial, make him face his accusers, but hell, that would be a total circus. What's done is done, let's move on.

2011-10-24 03:30:06 PM
I just wonder what happened to his wardrobe.

Eh... Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Quadaffi had the choice to give up power and face trail for his actions. He chose violence and that's what he got.

...and meanwhile, in Lockerbie, people are trying to find out who pulled the trigger, so they can buy the guy a beer and possibly build a statue.

Yeah but you're clearly some sort of sociopath.

Lots of other normal people are taught for their entire life (including in church) that every human life is sacred and precious and to celebrate the brutal murder of another person is frowned upon.

Seek help.

Oh and try to watch the news and pay attention next time. Far as I can tell, Saudi Arabia is doing just fine chopping off people's heads and sending in their own security to murder Bahrainis by the boatload. All with 100% American approval.

You can bet that all the people in the region are paying attnetion to that, even if you're not.

The way civilized people handle mass-murdering butchers is to put them on trial in The Hague until they die of natural causes. Hopefully, given time and massive infusions of liberalism, the Libyans will come around to this way of thinking.

And I'm sure that despite this article, the majority of Libyans wish he was still alive.

Alive, they can find out where the bodies are buried. They can find out where all the records are, where all the money is, etc. And all for a cheap price.

"Hey Moammar! Stand up and face the bars. Today you get extra tapioza pudding if you can point us to a mass grave site and give us the names of the dead so we can tell their families."

With him gone, lots of secrets will stay secret.

Dude was found hiding in a sewer pipe like the rat he was and cried like a biatch before getting his just reward. You reap what you sow, motherf*cker.

2011 is looking to be bad year for tyrants. Here's hoping that Kim Jong Il gets his comeuppance real soon.

There's photographic evidence of Bush making out with the Saudi leader while intimating that Iraq was the country mostly involved with 9/11 and not Saudi Arabia as we all know is true.

The Libyan people saw how the "international community" sent back the murderous ass-pimple who blew up Pan Am 103 just to seal an oil deal with BP. Who in the Hell would have faith in justice after that atrocity?

FTFA:
The walls in Benghazi and Tripoli, which for years were plastered with portraits of Gaddafi as the untouchable leader, are filled with graffiti portraying him as a bushy-haired clown.

So, Gaddafi is Libya's Kilroy?

/Maybe more like Alfred E Neuman

2011-10-24 03:41:29 PM
All the new regime has to say is he resisted in the process of being captured, so the troops on the scene opened fire in an effort to facilitate restraining him and for their own protection.

After all, the same line works when cops shoot a suspect, right?

I don't think that's why they killed him. I mean, I could be wrong, I wasn't there but I don't think that's the exact reason they decided to kill him.
