I like to microwave a ham and cheese hot pocket for nine or ten minutes, and then break it open over my bare chest. It's like being hand fed by Uday Hussein.

That's probably the best game this year that I won't be playing. Ever since EA decided to origin all over it, I've completely lost interest. And I'm equally uninterested in the console version because I never buy games that employ online passes.

Nice! Glad I could help. I actually learned it on a FARK thread too, couldn't believe it when i read it. Turns out it's true and makes even the hardest hack a breeze.

The game pretty much tells you that.

parens greater/lessthan and curly braces too.

Also, if there are multiple possibles on one line with one closer, like:

(hhh(hhh(jhjhg)

Click on the rightmost opener paren first, then work your way left. This way you get 3 dud removals, if you click the rightmost paren first you only get one.

Goddammit, can't we have one video game thread without you tools coming in to flame it all up? Now we're gonna have people posting random articles that only support their opinion while others post the exact opposite from another biased source.

And it's never even console players that start it, it's ALWAYS the "glorious PC master race" who feel the need to bring it up every damn time. You bunch are worse than Apple fanboys.

And for the record I play on both console and PC, but the "PC master race" makes it so damn hard to want to buy anything on PC. You biatch and moan about the 12-year-old console kiddies always ruining online play when your elitist attitude makes me not even want to touch a keyboard.

You'd be surprised by the number of people who don't know that. And the manual (unless you're refering to the PrimaGuides that are like $50) was basically a leaflet with the most basic instructions (and people who Steam purchased it didn't even get a manual). I don't even know if they covered the hacking minigame beyond "Pick the correct choice". The game never gave any inclination beyond them being selectable as a group instead of individual symbols.

I hope you're a girl because I love you right now for that statement.

I can understand the allure of OC gaming hell I used to be a PC gamer, but all it takes is one bad financial move or a computer virus and suddenly you can't keep with it.

This is why I am a console gamer. It's easier to work with and while mods are godly I prefer DLC that I don't have to buy with my Debit card.

I will miss having 64 player matches on battlefield but that is a sacrifice I will have to make.

First the game play issue...somehow I dont think MW3 will have fixed the problem of small maps and sniping through a 10x scope at 30 yards. In BF2 my longest recorded shot was 456. As for the other weapons kits, they make sense and are balanced.

Second, the money issue. BF3 is including free download content for all pre-orders. MW3 is charging extra - Activision, I bite my thumb at thee. I am still mad that I bought both MW1 and MW2 and was charged for DLC, while people who waited got it for free.

You bet I have pre-ordered a copy of BF3. As for the waiting I will be doing for MW3, I will be waiting until it costs less than $30 and I will be buying it used. Down with Infinity Ward and Activision for being overly greedy.

I propose a protest movement called Occupy Activision/Infinity Ward.

It may have been the in-game instructions. This information was given to me by the game in some form or another, so I must assume that someone clicked through a screen to miss that info.

Regardless, the minigame was a trivial matter of click two random words, hunt for dud removers and hope for an allowance refresh (seemed to happen most often between two empty brackets or parens like () or [] or {}), then repeat, and exit out after. Pre New Vegas you never needed the brackets.

I was glad they added the delay after exiting out and restarting a hack in new vegas, but I don't think it was enough.

I played that "foldit" game and after about 10 minutes of tutorials I realized that it's just a simplified molecular modeling program. Instead of AM1 calculations you have "wiggle" and MMFF is "shake" with annoying music. You can input constrains and force conformations with cutesie graphics. After playing an hour it just felt like I was just doing my job, but actually it was someone else's peptide I was modeling and I wasn't going to get on the paper, so I deleted the program.

I think if I didn't do molecular modeling for my job I'd still be interested, so go try it and solve some peptides for some biochemists who are too lazy to hire a real modeler.

ph0rk: I was glad they added the delay after exiting out and restarting a hack in new vegas, but I don't think it was enough.

Hacking terminals in Fallout is always easy, no matter what. You get to pick a couple words first and see if you can make a good guess for the third one. If it's not right, you exit and then go back in for three more tries. Most of them, if you're paying attention to how many characters you're getting right and look at the other choices, are pretty easy to figure out the first time around. A surprisingly high percentage of the time, you just pick the first word in the clutter and it's an EXACT MATCH!

In related news, I have a new game arriving tomorrow and I'll be busy with that until Skyrim is out on 11-11. I already finished New Vegas and all of the DLC, but I'm gonna go fark around in the wasteland right now, for the last time.

Well, until Fallout 4. Which better be coming out soon.

Speculation on the setting? I've heard a lot of crazy guesses, including china. I'd like to see it set on either of the US coasts. The series has a lot of history in California, but an east coast setting could be cool too. I'd love to have a Fallout setting to explore that includes LARGE cities, and the ability to use vehicles.

dammit i'm so old. we played pinball machines. there was arcades with rows of them. girls would come play too. body 'english' was employed, moving around and gyrating your bum while you played.

many girls enjoyed having their bum grabbed while they played. they didn;t expect it and they were concentrating on working the game paddles. they'd almost jump.

then we'd take a walk and smoke a jay. sometimes things would progress, sometimes not.

now that i'm old and fat and always stay home, i'm thinking of buying a used PlayStation2 off eBay. nephew has one. holy crap. i had no idea. modern toys are freaking incredible.

the early video games in pinball arcades was Pong. two frickin opposing paddles went up/down and a blip went back and forth. OMG.

another was "240Zap" where you pretend to drive a race car. jebus did that suck.

I played BO to 13th prestige because MW2 was too full of hackers. And my girl likes the zombies. I've just been having more fun with Minecraft lately.

I don't know what about MW2 might have disappointed you. I thought the game was brilliant. They turned an FPS into an RPG and engaged millions of people with the leveling and achievement system. Glitchy? In spots. Some over-powered weapons classes? Certainly. That's why I think MW3 is going to be a winner. And it'll be their last chance with me. They didn't break my heart, but BO was a let-down after MW2. If they can't make MW3 better than 2, I'm also out. Not going to BF, so I'll probably check out the latest RPGs.
