It's not that difficult to get away with many, many small crimes. Bigger crimes are also doable, if not advisable.

If you COULDN'T get away with murder or robbery, we wouldn't need police at all.

Seriously, that's been the rule for 30 years. Why are people still forgetting it? Go to the nearest McDonalds, or Starbucks, or something.
