Hmm. Now I regret not going. I would have relished the opportunity to take that tool to task.

They arrested a bunch of the protesters over the weekend. Our parks aren't 24/7, and people were trying to stay overnight.

Cythraul: I wonder when they start claiming that space aliens are really behind OWS?

We have to get through blaming gays, feminists, the lizard people, people with annoying cowlicks, and people who wear ill-fitting shoes before we can get to blaming space aliens.

The anti-semite guys at Zucotti Park were there before the Occupiers showed up.

I took this on 9/11/2011. The Occupy stuff didn't start up until the following week or so.

People were hollering insults at the guy. Good times.

the GOP still can't seem to wrap their heads around the idea that there IS nobody behind this movement. the fact that a bunch of people got fed up and started protesting on their own just blows their minds. it is literally inconceivable.

They do understand. But it's a threat to their political future so you attack it in hopes of killing it early. Come on man, you know this.

if the GOP wanted to kill this movement early, then they missed their chance. this thing is coast to coast now. what I don't understand is why they GOP thinks they can still ignore and mock it when it grows a bit bigger every day.

They're one picture of a flamboyantly gay OWS protester away from doing just that.

I think right now they're still trying the communism angle, with a bit of antisemitism for flavor.

I don't think they could have killed it. Frankly I don't think they can do anything, The GOP is not a political force anymore. It has no internal structure. It has no platform that rests on anything real. It's all lies and moral posturing and that will only take you so far in the face of hard numbers and empty bellies.

Yeah but neither of these will work either. They are used to pandering to their own base and they came to believe their own BS. They really really believed they were in the majority in their concerns with gay marrieds and overturning roe v wade. They really thought we, as a country, were worried about Obama's birth certificate. They thought they were speaking for the silent majority and that anyone who expressed a counter view was part of the lunatic fringe.

Hopefully this will all go down in the history books as a time of temporary madness. Like the tulip craze.

It's kinda hard to kill a following that has no leaders of any kind. One of the reasons the Tea Party has lost support is because it's leaders decided to speak their minds about the world and what came out was an endless stream of stupid and ignorance.

Trying to "kill" the Occupy movement would be like a good ol' fashioned game of Whack-a-Mole.

While I wish this were true, I just don't think it is... They keep rebounding again and again, and there is the very real chance they could do so again in 2012.

So today it's the Muslim Brotherhood, huh? Damn, I can't keep my head straight on how many people are the real power behind this. By this time next month it'll be a Dominion plot and we'll all be Jem'hadar in human masks.

If it was Occupy Dearborn, I might believe you, but those guys, in my limited experience, tend towards not being Muslim extremists, many being individuals fleeing said Muslim extremists or dictators like Saddam.

EWreckedSean: Because the American left didn't do that with the Tea Party?

In the end, the Tea Party and OWS want very similar things and are making very similar claims. I'm sure if either group were to just engage in civil discourse and would stop shouting epithets at each other, something would get done. But nobody wants anything to get done anymore, because they're worried the other side might be able to take credit for it.

The TEA Party was based on "Taxed Enough Already", when taxes were at historic lows. Why should we have to pay heed to those that are on the opposite side of facts?
