Some guy no one important knows of gets a speeding ticket.
And there aren't any glaring grammatical or spelling errors in the headline.
How did this get greenlit?

Contact Music + sketchy English + troll headline = greenlight

They recently reformed, and their first three concert dates sold out in record time (over 220,000 tickets were sold in under an hour).

And this happened.

Just because the rock music stations in your town thinks there was a virulent plague that wiped out all English rock musicians that hadn't visited America by 1982, doesn't make it so.

/you'll notice that the Fark filter restricts anyone from mentioning the town name this eBay sale was posted from...

That's a bit strong. Manchester's actually really nice.

Gaah. Ruined the joke.

I love the Stone Roses, but I can't say I care too much about Ian Brown getting a speeding ticket.

Now an article about one of the Charlatans or Happy Mondays being cited for failing to scoop their dog's poop, that'd be awesome.

Journey is still touring too, but that doesn't make them relevant to me either. I actually enjoyed Stone Roses - don't imply that I dislike or don't recognize UK music; it's just asking a lot for us common folk to know who the hell Ian Brown is.

/has hundreds of UK punk songs in library, and even likes Squeeze

The Stone Roses reformed? Really? That's awesome - best news I've heard all day.

Thank you so much, Subby, for posting this informative link. I consider myself slightly more informed than I was prior to clicking. All hail Fark.

I happened to watch Ian Brown perform live at the Reading Festival in 2009. He did Fool's Gold, certainly one of my favourite Stone Roses songs. As soon as he started to sing, the half dozen people I was with immediately burst out laughing as it was horrendously out of tune, off-key and out of time. Much like the very last time they played Reading in 1996. The review I read at the time said the band were awesome launching into 'I Am The Resurrection' until the fateful moment Ian Brown opened his mouth to sing, at which point the gig was written in Reading Festival folklore for all the wrong reasons. In short, this reunion has the great potential to go badly, badly wrong
