Now we need to find the next John Madden. I say we pick a random guy from the ESPN TV station.

Tebow routinely mutilates Polynesian boys' penises for his own personal pleasure.

He really, *really* sucked for 3+ quarters but put it together at the end. I have nothing in particular against the guy, but I just don't see it happening consistently. Maybe I'm wrong.

In either case, he missed a wide-open Eric Decker on a pass that would have been a TD, which would have pushed me to a win in fantasy. So damn it all.

Tebus has proven every doubting Thomas wrong once again.
He just wins baby and a boy named Suh gets trampled next week!

The downside of corralling everyone around to watch the kid fail is that, when he doesn't, it looks that much better.

He started being the next Brett Favre in college. Gary Danielson learned to be a ventriloquist so that he could still do color commentary with Tebow's cack in his mouth.

In one league I picked up Tennessee Defense since the 49ers were on the bye. -9 points and I lose by one. It also really helped that Run DMC went down on the 2nd play.

This has become a sensational story at both ends of the spectrum. I wasnt pretty but it was a win. The truth, as always, is somewhere in the gray.

When will the media stop BASHING Tim for his beliefs. Everywhere I turn all the media wants to talk about is how much Tim sucks. That is, when they're not ignoring him!

You see, unlike other players in the the NFL, Tebow has won at EVERY LEVEL. I dare you to name ONE QB who won games in college. That sets Tebow far apart.

I love Tebow because everyone else hates him. That's an authentic way to like something and is not reactionary in any way. Take that Tebow Haters. I'm a Tebow lover! That's right. I'll love Tebow all day and all night and there's nothing you can do to stop our love.

Jesus Christ Claims Tim Tebow Not Ready To Be NFL Starter

DENVER-Jesus Christ, noted Son of God and football analyst proclaimed Monday that second-year Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow lacks the pocket presence, arm strength, and passing accuracy necessary to be a starter in the NFL. "Tim's place is at the right hand of the other backups on the bench, and his earthly works show that he deserves to dwell there all the days of his life," said Lord and Savior of all mankind, adding, ""It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than for Tim Tebow to complete a pass against the Cover-2". "For Tebow must have faith in coach Fox's plan, and pay his dues by wearing the headset, and by calling in plays from the clipboard while watching from the sidelines." Christ also asked Tebow to stop praying to Him and asking to be made the number one quarterback in the depth chart, claiming "that's never going to farking happen."

I will say though, that at the bar there was a woman wearing a Tebow jersey and loudly yelling about everyone else (o-line, receivers, whatever) every time the Broncos made a bad play, whether or not it was Tebow's fault. So if that's the norm, I can see why people are a bit put off.

Tebus didn't just win it all in college he won in high school too and he beat the dolphins in Miami which is really, really, really hard to do and it's a well known fact that you become a better person just by spending a few minutes with him!

If you can't appreciate a shotput from the shotgun tumbling through the air then why watch football at all?

I seriously believe that Denver was just trying to throw away the season and draft Andrew Luck from Stanford after all the manufactured drama that came out of Denver's training camp

The coaching staff threw this guy away in the shortened preseason and now expected him to be magic after putting 1 week into him.

I would love to see what Tebow looks like by the end of the season now that he is QB#1 and gets to take all his snaps with the 1st team offense and actually work with the offensive coordinator

You know who else won ugly all the time? Vince Young. And now he's a career backup. Because you can only win ugly against bad teams.

smerfnablin: I seriously believe that Denver was just trying to throw away the season and draft Andrew Luck from Stanford after all the manufactured drama that came out of Denver's training camp

The Luck sweepstakes will make this season very interesting down the stretch. What team will throw in the towel, abandon all pride, and allow themselves to have a winless season to draft him?

Rams, Colts and Dolphins are already well on their way (not to mention a whole slew of one-loss teams on their heels should they "slip up" and win). Oddly none of the three play each other, so they could ALL end up winless and be forced into a tiebreaker.

We really, really need an NFL draft lottery.

Supes: We really, really need an NFL draft lottery.

It's not every year that there is a candidate like Luck. Particularly in a year where there is no competition for the top spot. Even Reggie Bush had Mario Williams as the 1A/1B. A lottery is a nice idea to make extra money from a lottery show, but it really doesn't help any teams that really need it.

Or, using the example of random Bronco RBs who put up 1000+ yards/season then faded into obscurity as soon as they were left Denver, you can win ugly when your teammates carry you.

I love how "Tim Tebow" won a game where 21 other starts plus special teams and subs participated.

I picked him up off waivers and he outscored both of my regular QB's, Stafford and Ryan. Stafford is hurting and Ryan is on a bye next week. I may have to start Football Jebus next week. So not happy about it...

Didn't you know that Tom Brady won 3 Super Bowls all by himself? He only lost the last one because the Giants cheated by catching a ball with a helmet on a single play, and they hit him a lot when he was trying to throw to himself.

2011-10-24 11:03:26 AM
Ok, if anyone watched the game, you'll see that Miami stymied his ass for 57 minutes, and in those last 3 minutes minutes, they went to prevent defense, which allows for receivers to catch the ball, but not advance down the field or get out of bounds. basically, it's a throwback defense that quite literally let the other team catch the ball, but not score.

This is Miami letting him score more than Tebow running the offense to a score.

Up until this point he had more sacks than completions and threw more balls out of bounds than completions. He is NOT a good QB. This has nothing to do with anything outside of PRO Football. He is NOT a good QB.

See, the game where they pulled Orton and put in Tebow, you could make the claim that he almost led them to victory. And I don't really care about Tebow's beliefs. He doesn't seem like a bad person (quite the opposite) apart from that Focus on the Family horseshiat, and since every player feels like making a big deal out of God helping them get a first down, his "drop to my knees and cry" behavior doesn't stand out much.

But if I understand correctly, Tebow doesn't get blamed for contributing to a 15 point hole the team was in after 57 minutes of play, but he gets credit for the win. That's just silly.

2011-10-24 11:06:20 AM

In the post-game presser Tebow blamed himself for getting them in the hole, and most analysts I've seen have said "Yeah, he sucked for 55 minutes, but he lead the Broncos to a win; let's hold off on calling him a winner or loser."

Personally? I know that Tebow won; but you can't consistently win like that. Only against a horrendously shiatty team like the Dolphins could he pull that off. Personally, I think John Fox was an idiot for not yanking Tebow at the half and putting in Orton.

2011-10-24 11:19:19 AM
Tebow was by no means legendary in this game. *I* could have played better QB for the first 50+ minutes of the game. But I give the kid credit - he got his shiat together, led his team, and pulled out a win. Obviously if the Broncos have to deal with 50 minutes of crap to get 10 minutes of good each week, we'll never win more than six games in a season again. But it is encouraging that Tebow didn't give up and still played as hard as he could at the end.

And since Tebow is the QB of a team who had a QB for 15 years who wrote the book on legendary comebacks, no, let's not get carried away with this. Especially considering Miami is one of the worst football teams I've seen in forever. Miami and Indy are going to have a race to 0-16 to get Luck. Sparano isn't going to make it to Week 10.

It's going to take a lot more than this to convince this Bronco fan that Tebow is the real deal, but it's at least a start.

2011-10-24 11:22:51 AM
He got bailed out by a couple of great catches in the game, as well. Not a very auspicious 4th start in the NFL. To be fair, he was playing against a solid Miami defense that held the Cleveland Browns to just 17 points, and had been allowing only 26 points/game over the first 6 weeks.

Meh, as an old school Raiders fan I'm conditioned to wish for heavy, pointy things to drop on all the Broncos' dreams and aspirations, but I wish the kid well. Maybe he will turn in a solid season, and maybe the Broncos as a team will suck a bit less in 2011. What truly doesn't sit right with me is that in a week where rookie Cam Newton (who admittedly had 3 more NFL starts than Tebow) goes off, Christian Ponder gets his first NFL start & keeps his god-awful team in it til the final seconds against the Packers, the Saints hang 62 points on Indy, and both Raider QBs forget which color their jerseys are, Tebow is the lead story for every sports show/website. Not his fault to be sure, but doesn't make me more sympathetic to his cause either.

The Broncos are now the only team since the merger to come back from behind 15 points behind with 3 minutes left, AND win...

But hey, it was Tebow leading the charge, so therefore its a meaningless accomplishment and he deserves zero credit. Obviously.

2011-10-24 11:29:06 AM
He needed a borderline miracle final 3 minutes to beat a hapless Miami team. Teams don't often recover onside kicks, and he got lucky they did. But Matt Prater didn't do him any favors missing two FGs earlier in the game.

Decker was wide open and would have been an easy TD. Decker was so open, even a bad throw could have been a touchdown. Tebow's throw was just hideous. You could tell he was amped and excited and just overshot Decker.

That said, Tebow also had some ridiculous runs, like the one where he should have been sacked and instead ran for 25 yards.
