OH yeah the score indicated a real squeaker

credit to the Colts defense for keeping the score to within 8 ... touchdowns.

And Atlanta and Tampa Bay both have their bye week next week, free week to gain ground. Week after that the Dirty Birds play the Colts while the Saints host the Bucs, and things really get interesting.

You know, I don't think this Colts team would be much better with Peyton Manning than they are with him. After all, he can't do much to keep the Saints from hanging 62 points on the board.

Even with him, I can't see this team being much better than 2-5 or 3-4 at this point. I certainly don't think they'd be playoff contenders, but they certainly wouldn't be the sack of shiat that hit the field tonight.

Rams are heading for Luck Land. Wonder what they can get for the pick?

The Saints didn't even punt until their last drive with 6 minutes left in the game.

Manning would have kept the score a little closer, but no I think the Colts would have fallen apart this year with or without him. It's been waiting to happen for a couple years now has the Colts didn't seem to understand that a team needs more then just an awesome quarterback.

it'd be hilarious if the Rams won that game.

Colts got straight up Apollo'ed in that game.

There's 3 teams without a win still. The Rams will get a win because they have yet to play the Cardinals. So, of the 2 teams who seem to be destined for 0-16, who would lose: the Colts or the Dolphins?

I wonder why no-one asks that Jim Caldwell feels his job is on the line? I mean, yeah, Peyton is hurt; but if a whole team is 0-7 any other year; the head coach would be under the microscope hard. Instead, he gets softball questions in post game. Someone needs to ask him directly if he thinks his job is on the line. 62-7 loss? C'Mon!

Time of Possession: Colts 21:41
Time of Possession: Saints 38:19

I think if Manning were in there, this stat would be much different, which would have gone a long way toward keeping the game close.

If you can't get first downs and sustain drives, 62-7 is what you end up with.

No complaints here. I hope karma keeps biting him and the Colts in the ass for the next decade. You don't quit on a perfect season. Ever.

Too bad Caldwell didn't go for the perfect season a few years ago. He could have been a 16-0 and 0-16 coach.

Manning could keep the offense on the field longer. Might keep the score down to 40-45.

Serious question - does the complete collapse of the Colts without Manning to lead the offense make him look like a better player?

Sort of a 'man, look at those sucky guys, and look at what Manning did with them!' I don't pay much attention to that team, so what are we really looking at here?

Every team in the Big Ten is calling the Colts tomorrow to invite them to play in their season opener.

I think it makes the front office look like complete shiat. They should all be fired.

The fact that Manning isn't in the game to pace the Colts' offense is the only reason the Saints scored that many points. I'm hopeful that all the players stay relatively healthy through the season so that they can grow as an organization. Manning will be back for a couple seasons and hopefully guide Andrew Luck with sincere guidance instead of making a show like Favre did with Rogers.

/62-7 should NEVER happen in the NFL.

I live in Indy, so obviously I have some built up anger with Caldwell. I expected the Saints to kick the Colts ass badly; but even the players are rumbling about the coaching. Meanwhile Caldwell looks like a deer in the headlights.

It's obvious that when Manning became ineligible to play, that broke the hearts of all on that team. How can you play good football with a broken heart? You just can't.

In fairness, the fact that the Colts only managed one defensive stop in the entire game (and that came with 3:00 left in the 4th quarter, after the Saints' 11th consecutive running play) had a bit to do with the Saints scoring that many points.

As for Luck, I think it depends on whether the Rams or Colts end up with the tougher strength of schedule.

I think Caldwell is the only coach I've seen (in the NFL) that really just stands there. I'm pretty sure he doesn't even coach. Every sideline camera view of coaches across the league show them yelling, calling in plays, talking to players, etc. I'm pretty sure I've never seen Caldwell do anything other than make his stupid face.

When Peyton was playing he would talk to Peyton. I assume Peyton was telling him what to do.

We are visiting the DFW area from St. Louis and attended the Rams/Cowboys game yesterday.

Multiple times people screamed "RAMS SUCK!" at us. Each and every time I responded "Yes, they do."

GimpyNip: Running up the score, classless.

The only thing I learned this week is that Jason Campbell is better than Tom Brady because look at the Raiders without him. When Tom Brady got injured look at the Pats! They won the Supper Bowl.

Matt Cassel.
