I like him as an actor (Hulk wasn't his fault), but I don't see him having the charisma or proper level of sexuality needed to play Elvis. I would say Tom Hardy or Nicholas Hoult. Maybe Johnny Depp for an older Elvis

Well, he could play submitter's mom, but then, everyone plays submitter's mom.

I'm not sure that a guy who played Chopper is a good Elvis analog.

Better than the other option, seeing as he looks *nothing* like Elvis Costello.

Sonofabiatch.

They already made an Elvis & Nixon movie that was pretty funny. How many do we really need?

but I guess we didn't technically need any of the movies based on 70s tv shows either.

It's been a while since I've heard about Elvis sightings. Have we all just accepted that The King is dead?

I think it has more to do with the type of person who'd "want" to see Elvis having pretty much died out over the last decade or so. You don't see many old ladies in beehives these days.

A movie about Elvis meeting Nixon? Is it a film short, or are they going to recreate the whole event in real time, including getting security clearances?

Well, he'd be just about nursing home age by now, so he's probably not getting out as much for sightings these days.

The last time I saw a group picture of his wife, daughter, and grandaughter, due to the wonders of plastic surgery, they all looked about the same..

Why is everyone ignoring the fact that the movie is going to be directed by Dr. Gordon!

He might be able to pull off Elvis Stojko.

Might make sense, Elvis was a good looking guy for the first 1/2 of his career. But not when he met Nixon.

But Johnny is a stick of a man while older Elvis was a balloon.

Nixon was a pretty decent casual piano player. Wouldn't surprise me if he and Elvis jammed.

The Kurt Russell we know and love today is because of his big comeback role as Elvis in an HBO movie directed by John Carpenter. So stranger things have happened than Bana being cast.

I don't see it. Then again, David Keith played Elvis once...

Little known fact that Elvis asked JFK to be an agent-at-large in the Federal Re-animated Antiquities Department prior to asking something similar of Nixon

What about the dude that played him in Walk the Line? I don't know a lot about Elvis, but I thought he did well.

Or, to a lesser extent, Jack White. He has experience with the part.

Well that's good, no one wants to watch a movie about Elvis Stojko.

I had such high hopes for Bana after Munich. Alas, a Drew Barrymore movie came calling.

Why the Fail? Eric Bana is a great actor. He just happens to pick crap movies on occasion.

Hell, a bulked up John Rhys Myers would have been a better choice.

And while Danny Huston's the sh*t, I don't see him as Nixon. Apparently, Cary Elwes isn't going for resemblance.

He's already played Elvis. It's the role that made him famous in the United States. (new window)

I don't get why Eric Bana keeps getting parts. He seems like a decent enough guy, but he's so dull as an actor. No way can he pull off a larger than life character like Elvis...unless they're going for a quiet, brooding Elvis.
