Yeah, that would go over about as well as Al Gore in 2000.

Elizabeth Warren 2016. It's time to put a real liberal in the White House.

Maybe he can face off against McCain. The battle of the old coots!

2016 will be a western democrat.

WTF Indeed: 2016 will be a western democrat.

Anyone in particular in mind? By my predictions, 2012 is a lock for Obama, who do you think will rise to the top of the field for 2016?

It will be a pro-gun rights democrat (even though the national platform is pro-gun rights) which means a western democrat is more likely.

Sleeping Monkey: Elizabeth Warren 2016

My wife wasn't familiar with Elizabeth Warren a few weeks ago. I told her "She's America's first female President."

I'm standing by that prediction.

We need to see the derp crest and recede by 2014 for that to happen...but she'd have my vote.

Right now, I would vote for her in a heartbeat (and I'm looking forward to voting for her to become my Senator).

Because fark it, why not? I don't want Hillary. Never, ever. I'd absolutely love for Warren to run for it, but to straight first term Senators is unlikely to work. Who else from the Democratic Party would go? Phil Bredesen would be great if someone could get him to run. He won the Governor's office for the second time with 68% of the vote, the most lopsided in Tennessee history. He's also a big health care guy. But he sat out 2008 completely.

I think we should really consider Cthullu as a presidential candidate. How much worse can he(it?) be than anyone else?

Can't see Biden doing it... it's hard to run with your foot in your mouth.

I like Biden. I think he'd be a good president.

That said, I don't see it happening.

2011-10-23 08:33:28 PM
Biden has a temperament that belongs in the Senate. And, he'll be 73 in 2016. On the same angle, Clinton will be 69. I'd go with someone younger. Namely, Elizabeth Warren. Younger, actual liberal, no equivocation or reflexive capitulation. And it would be a nice to go from the center-right Obama administration to hers, in terms of making actual liberalism acceptable to the media and political culture again.

/we'd need a majority of solid D's in congress, and a fix of Senate rules to get anything done though.

I know. Killing Osama, helping to topple Gadhafi, facilitating the end of the war in Iraq. What a farkup. He's not even saving a pretzel for the gas jets or coming up with an idiotic tax plan that can fit on a bumper sticker. At the very least he could have tried to un-gay Bachmann's husband or punish the google for getting Santorum in a froth.

In other words, STFU month old alt, you cock.

2011-10-23 08:35:38 PM
Biden won't run. He's too old and he's already had some major health problems.

2011-10-23 08:35:48 PM
Biden v. Palin in '16 would almost make the past 12 years worth it. We should begin the cloning process of Jon Stewart now, just in case.

Who the hell is Joe Biden?

wut?
another lawyer, academic and inexperienced politician? haven't we seen this before?

I thought her book "All Your Worth: The Ultimate Lifetime Money Plan " was okay but her appearances on Dr. Phil just weren't that consistently good.

I wonder if Jon Tester is interested. He should have plenty of time to put a campaign together after losing his seat next November.

Warren is awesome, no question, but she would need a few more terms under her belt to be able to do 2016, but she's totally who I want for first female POTUS. Maybe 2020? She'd be 71 by then though...meh, I guess that'd work.

Biden?...Can't we have Bernie Sanders? or Barney Frank? Or anyone? Really anyone else in the democratic party? Is it required after 2 terms that the incumbent party put up an incompetent candidate?

As for Warren, we'll see how she does in 2012. If she can't completely clobber a Republican opponent in a Massachusetts Senate election, I'd have to say "no" just on electability grounds. She sounds great, but political experience matters. Has she ever won an election for anything in her life?

Rape and murder will go up if we don't elect Joe Biden.

You mean, as opposed to 0bama, who's seized everyone guns and made owning a pointy stick illegal?
