I think I have this on VHS..Is it from the Ultimate Revenge? I remember Exodus and Slayer playing live at Studio 54 and Venom was all pre-taped stuff because Venom's guitarist Mantis couldn't get a visa...

Yes I'll full of useless metal knowledge...

Preach it -

At dawn they kill again

/I can't always decide which of Hell Awaits or Reign in Blood I like more, but neither ever gets old for me

Man, the whole 1985 concert (on youtube) looks like it would have been awesome. I oft feel the 80's and 90's were the golden age of metal.

/came out in the early 80's too

Slayer is just about the only metal band that toured anywhere close to me in the mid-80s that I failed to see (stupid bad weather). I finally had the chance to see them a few years ago and they still totally kicked ass.

But I think to have seen them in their prime would have been like witnessing a force of (evil) nature.

I'm not sure about Glorior Belli's new album yet, but the artwork is probably my favorite cover of the year -

My personal favorite so far is Azarath's Blasphemers' Malediction:

Music's alright, but nothing too spectacular.

BTW - Why haven't these guys (First Fragment) had a record deal yet? They completely and totally kick ass and I feel like I'm missing out on all the shiat they could be putting out.

Indeed. Is King like 100lb slimmer?

Not surprising.

Hanneman's first guitar was a Les Paul, purchased only months before he joined the band - since they weren't making a lot of money back then, chances are he's playing it here.

"We saw album covers of Destruction and they had bullet belts, and we say 'Bullet belts are totally bad ass. We must have bullet belts or we look stupid." But we cannot afford bullet belts. So Igor say "If we take AA batteries, and glue them all together, and photograph from far away, they look like bullet belts". And so that is what we do." - Max Cavalera
