Did I miss the "epic skills" part? It looked like a ricer with no gas control.

Part of the point of drifting is to keep the car in control while skating the edge of the out of control. This guy was just spinning around in circles.

I like how he gets a good whack in on the car that knocked his wing off.

2011-10-23 01:52:12 PM
What movie was this from again?

2011-10-23 02:09:10 PM
Epic? "Perhaps subby" and all that...

That just looked like a drunk in a car he didn't know how to handle. If you want to see good driving skills vs. the cops, find that chase with the Mustang.

This is from a movie, dipshiat.

2011-10-23 02:15:18 PM
If that had happened in America, cops would have opened fire.

2011-10-23 02:23:55 PM
At least he was nice enough to pick up his wing on the way out.

that just makes it worse. Unless the movie is about "how not to drift" at least.

When I was a kid we had movies like "The Big Wheel" w/ Mickey Rooney or " To Please a Lady" w/ Clark Gable. The cars raced on tracks and thats how we rolled. Now the yoots get "Fast and Furious" and they all want to be Vin Diesel. That said, the guy in the video is a jackass with no skills. Hope he ended up in jail and his car taken away.

/as a whole, drifting sucks, its for people who can't race
//now get to hell off my lawn

It's been said before, but I'll say it again; the video is from a movie, Mr. Badass.

When I was a kid, we had movies like Bullitt and Gone In 60 Seconds

It still glorifies street racing and criminal activity. Why can't these retards go to a race track?? There is drag ,road racing and god forbid, ovals all across this country.I'm not saying movies and video games have a huge influence but o.d. on that crap and its bound to have some.

I have to assume that is sarcasm.

Particularly since one of the cop cars moves to give him room to start doing his thing.

Plus, why would somebody just happen to filming just that one spot.

Yeah, you're right. The first time I saw this movie,

I immediately went and robbed my local Amtrak.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've booked a flight to Malaysia so that I can go piss off some cops and go drifting down their highways.

Minimum

I have to assume that is sarcasm.

What I mean is "That looks pretty realistic". Yes, it's a movie. But it's obviously filmed by somebody totally outside of the Hollywood sphere of influence.

Had it been a Hollywood movie, there would be closeups of the stars inside the car, but the interior would be the wrong year for the car shown. There would be familiar engine sounds and tire sounds that aren't made by those cars. The cars would never actually hit each other, there would be a cut scene to a closeups of the tires smoking and spinning (wrong wheels, wrong pavement), then back to the cars skidding around (same action as before but from another angle), the star would be shooting a gun at the cops (as if somebody handling a car in a four-wheel drift could even pick up his gun let alone point it at anything), a repeat of of the earlier skidding scene (not another angle, they literally use the same clip twice) more closeups of the stars this time yelling but without using a single swear word, and finally a closeup (focus pulled late) of somebody screaming and then one of these in slow motion, followed by a scene of Our Heroes (now out of their car somehow) saying something stupid.

This was done better.

Ok, you win.

But you did forget to mention the multiple explosions.

That movie looks a lot like an Xbox game I have where the object is to piss the police off big time, until they start trying to ram you with SUV's and chase you with helicopters, and then GET AWAY. Wonder if the movie is based on the game?

ASSUMING you aren't just trolling....

What's the matter? The mere thought of a fictional flouting of the law enough to make your jelly-filled doughnut piggy brain asplode? "Bu bu bu... LAW AND ORDER! RESPECT MY AUTHORITY!"? Take your oinking arse back on down to the feeding trough at the local Dunkin'.

They apparently do not like to share those for some reason.. lol

When I used to have a scanner that still worked years ago, I'd occasionally listen to it when bored or working on something around the house (painting, fixing something) and was lucky enough to catch a couple of chases where they got away. Oddly enough the first car was an old Vega, crossed state lines and still got away via Rt 50 in Belpre, OH (left them sit). Second was a Tracker that came right down in front of my house, 12-15 city police and sheriffs right behind him... well, 10-15 seconds behind him. He went 4 streets back, parked in a driveway and vanished.... wasn't even his Tracker - was a stolen vehicle.

Yeah, that was the tip off for me. The "police" were obviously cutting the driver huge slack and he still couldn't escape, mostly because you need to stop letting the tires spin if you want to get some grip.

Holy crap, that guy did have skill. If he had moved left when that cop at come up on his right he probably would have kept going .

Well the question I have is, why does it seem to always seem to take 7 police officers to handcuff a driver?

He watched too many Fast and Furious movies.

Too bad it didn't happen in the states. Most cops here would have opened fire and cleansed the gene pool.

Do you have any info on that?

I think he got might have gotten away. Police chase people said "15 year old kid" so there is no criminal record and you can't legally divulge the name of the minor. The video is edited to show "car breaking down" but that point in the video is the same as when he was braking to pull a U and head back in the other direction. I LOL'ed when the cop admitted to wiping himself out when the "kid" did a shoulder fake.

Nope. I got no citation. Clearly, the cops didn't "stop" this kid. For whatever reason, the kid stopped the car after schooling the pursuing officers. No one here will ever know why the car stopped. The viewing audience only has the narrator's word that the car broke down. The same narrator that used to be a sworn police officer and was being paid to spout untruths weekly until he could retire and get a real gig as a propagandist for the studio.

I have read many police reports. Experience has taught me never to believe the "official" version.

And yeah, the absolute favorite part of the video is when the highly trained officer with the modified pursuit vehicle containing a Corvette motor and engine management chip admits to being outdriven by a child. Because the child flinched. Just amazing.

There is an entire episode of some SWAT show (on hulu) that shows them bust into 3 wrong houses.
They wrap up the episode explaining how that is acceptable behavior.
