It pains me to try and think this one through as she obviously did. I'm trying to get far enough into it to get to the point she decided this was 'ok and going to work'.

And now you've got a bit of a mess on your hands.

/you'd be surprised at some of your phrasing

"I made a huge mistake.... by getting caught." Idiot left a long paper trail of altered tickets for $3,000. She would have been better off reselling things out of the evidence room. Though she would probably use her personal EBAY account for that too. meh.

It stings a bit more being robbed by an idiot than being robbed by a cunning schemer.

I was uncertain of the term "filching" So I googled. I truly hope that she didn't do what urban dictionary claims she did.

And she'd have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for that meddling defendant.

Bobbi Jean Farrell, 34, is charged with racketeering, two counts of falsifying official documents and four counts of theft by taking for filching about $3,000 over a three-month period.

I will NEVER understand people basically throwing their lives/reputations/careers for what basically amounts to "pennies" in the grand scheme of life.

If the crime doesn't set me up to live like a 1%'e,r on a tropical paradise without an extradition treaty with the U.S., for the rest of my life, and without anyone getting hurt; then it isn't worth my time.

I think the UD just doesn't know the proper spelling of 'felching'.

+1, I was going to say something along these lines but gave up when I couldn't do so as elegantly as you have.

A mistake is something you did not intend to do. Being a shiatty person doesn't qualify.

This is how you do it right. Court clerk stole $2 million. "The majority of the money was sent to the Dominican Republic where it was used to build a piano bar called the Evaluis." Bad luck for her, she got caught before she could retire to the Caribbean.

I think many people should reread this story. The obvious crime doesn't get my attention. What gets my attention is the notion that everytime someone in law enforcement gets in trouble, they are "family". Yes, there is racketeering going on everyday and it is right in our faces.

$3000? Sheesh if I ever get busted for stealing it better be in the millions and worth ruining my life over.

The moral is: crime does pay, but it's only like $6.25 an hour.
