It costs twenty three thousand quid every day to keep a church "open"? Are they burning rare paintings for the boiler?

A church makes 23,000 pounds a day in profit? Yeah, that's not a business at all.

I'm not quite sure what they're doing protesting the church? Or are they just camping out at the church, which is near the protest site?

if you read the article you'd find that they were told they could protest there. but now it looks like they've overstayed their welcome.

If I remember correctly, they wanted to protest at another location but they were told it was private property and so they moved to the church instead

Well the church has had a sordid history and present full of indiscretions, so I guess this is what I call just comuppence. 23,000 pounds a day, that is more than many Brits make in a year. Give me a break.

left wing? a church? and what exactly makes them left wing? what makes the protesters left wing? conservatives (not republicans) should be just as pissed as anyone else about the current economic inequality and control over democracy that the plutocrats have. you "conservatives" have lost your way and have been brainwashed by the corporate social conditioning media. your entire ideology has been co-opted by the plutocrats. using nationalism, religion,Xenophobia and bigotry you've been made slavering sycophants to the ruling elite.

Uh...it's an Anglican church. With the exception of a few overzealous monarchs, CoE has had a relatively bloodless and scandal free existence (when compared to say, Roman Catholicism).

It occurs to me that, at £23,000/day, perhaps occupying the church is in keeping with the spirit of the protests.

Well, I suppose the people that work at the church, who get paid by the church, like those fat cats cooking in the restaurant and waiting on tables, would appreciate if the church remained open as a major tourist attraction. Maybe not. Let's blame Wall Street for putting more people out of work.
