Meh, what's the rest of the story? Is he that family member that used up his welcome by being a no good for nothing drunk/addict?

basemetal: Meh, what's the rest of the story? Is he that family member that used up his welcome by being a no good for nothing drunk/addict?

Probably. Although you'd think Madonna would at least set him up with minimal shelter and food just to keep stories like this from circulating. Only reason I can think of not to if you have that kind of money is if the guy did something really really terrible to you or to another family member.

Is he the one she disowned after he "wrote" a tell-all book about her?

You're telling me Madonna's a coont? I have a hard time believing that.

No, that was Christopher Ciccone.

He needs to put on black face and move to Africa. She'll end up adopting him eventually.

Anthony Ciccone

I thought he was serving a life sentence? If he's out why aren't the Gambino's taking care of him?

losing his job at the family winery

I'm guessing "hands in the till" or "drinking the stock."

What I don't get is why the homeless don't go south. I mean, it's not like you have any reason to stick around. If I lost it all you can be sure I'd be homeless somewhere in the south.

Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone. She hears you call her name and it feels like homeless people.

Sparkling muskatel, one of the finest wines of Idaho Michigan.

My thoughts exactly. Being incompetent usually isn't enough to lose a job at the family business. Also, he definitely needs to move someplace warmer.

I heard she is going to let him stay at Gray Gardens.

Shut your mouth. They do move south, don't be giving more of them ideas. My city actually offers them a ticket back "home".

He should whore himself a little more. It may help.

Yeah, notice his sob story doesn't include WHY he lost his job. That little tidbit could be relevant to his current plight.

Isn't that what the job with the family was all about? How does one get fired from one's family?

basemetal: Meh, what's the rest of the story? Is he that family member that used up his welcome by being a no good for nothing drunk/addict?

I was wondering the same. If any of my family fell on hard times, I would help them as much as I could (and I have). With one exception who can rot in hell for all I care. Let's just say that when I found out he was sent to prison, I was not surprised.

If he's a drunk/addict, in all seriousness, in Madonna's line of work, she should know plenty of resources to help. Must be more to it perhaps?

Liverboy: If he's a drunk/addict, in all seriousness, in Madonna's line of work, she should know plenty of resources to help. Must be more to it perhaps?

Even if she did and her brother had alcohol or drug problems (or both), there's no guarantee that he would agree to be treated. The first step for an alcoholic or addict is to admit they have a problem & want to deal with it. Otherwise, forcing someone into rehab will achieve nothing.

For example, Gordon Ramsay's brother, Ronnie, is a heroin addict & Gordon has paid for his brother's rehab at least 5 times. His brother is still an addict & will remain an addict until he's either dead or admits he has a problem and willingly seeks treatment.

Same goes for court-ordered anger management classes. Unless the person admits they have issues with their anger, the classes are a waste of time. IMHO, the only reason most judges order defendents to attend them is because it looks as though something is being achieved.

Eh, no one should feel obligated to hand money and help to their siblings. Some are just fark ups and its in your best interest to leave them to rot. Especially if you have tons of cash and they're a little unhinged.

darkscout: What I don't get is why the homeless don't go south. I mean, it's not like you have any reason to stick around. If I lost it all you can be sure I'd be homeless somewhere in the south.

1. Have you been in the south (or the west) it's full of dirty, filthy homeless.

2. Travel is very difficult through parts of the country. As Kerouac noted in his seminal book On The Road, the criminalization of homelessness in the 1950s spelled the end of the mobility of the homeless. You have to walk (nobody picks up such hitchhikers) miles and miles through some roads that are hazardous for pedestrians. Avoiding punks and rednecks, cops and sherrifs hunting vagrants, and trying to scare up food and shelter in towns you've never been in.

I remember in my boy scout manual there were a list of 'hobo signs' that we memorized. These were markings that could be drawn or carved in wood that gave indications about just such things - where to get food, how to get out of town, where the cops would lie in wait. All that is gone today. Now it's "can you get into a car" or "can you save enough for a train ticket and a bath?"

For most homeless, that's a no. For the rest, see #1.

Went to catholic elementary school with the Ciccone family (at that time pronounced sickown, now chichownee).
Antony (TJ) is the eldest. He seemed the most rational at that time.
I thought it was Martin who showed up at the concert drunk. Martin was my classmate, and pretty much turned into a major dick in later meetings. Maybe I confuse the TJ and Marty as grownups.
Christopher is younger brother to her, and I believe he wrote the tell-all.

Even without Madonna's money, the family seemed better off. They were the only ones in the neighborhood to afford an nanny (their dad married her after first wife died), and a maid.
I wonder where all that money went?

Is anyone else surprised that Michigan has a wine industry?

Huh. Didn't know that. Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips has had similar issues with his brother and crack.

Nogale: Is anyone else surprised that Michigan has a wine industry?

Not a surprise at all. West Michigan climate is perfect for growing grapes and fruit. I believe it is in the top 5 wine producing states (citation needed). Even Mario Batali, who has a home there, raves about the wines. I vacation in Leelanau and hit the wineries frequently. There are dozens of wineries with good Rieslings. On occasion, you can find a good red - try Shady Lane, Blackstar Farms. There are many others. My personal fave is Mawby's, who makes sparking wines (champagne style). Best happy hour ever. Get 2 free samples and for $5, you get your choice of 2 flights with crackers and either whitefish pate or herbed goat cheese. Sit on the hills overlooking the vineyard and get a good buzz. Hit the place 3 times in one week.

Lost respect for one so rich not to even spare a miniscule amount to help one's own flesh and blood. Even a black sheep deserved a little bit better...

Agree nightmaretony. She's mega rich and at least could use her influence to get him in a boarding house or something. Maybe she tried and he refused help

TMYK. This definitely goes on my list of Things I Have Learned from Fark. Although I don't imagine I'll make it to Michigan any time soon,

johnnygew: tell-all.

god. that book. takes me back to a point in my life that was absolutely miserable.
i've blocked most of the book out of my head. i had to co-edit it. with a douchebag. and it was a book about a douchebag. written by a douchebag. that did nothing but point out how much of a douchebag madonna is. which was douchebaggilly done.

the rewrites and bounce-backs to the legal department were ridiculous.

Not like that's really any better. Then you're just incredibly hot half of the year. Even in cities that are on the borderline (KC, St. Louis), the weather is still insane.

At some point, you pissed off the wrong people, Tony.

So the fark what? She doesn't owe him anything. My brothers and sisters aren't responsible for me paying my mortgage. I am. They apparently gave him a job but he couldn't keep it. So get another farking job, asshole. Flip burgers, whatever. If he is really unable, go to a shelter and do what they suggest to help you get back on your feet. This has nothing to do with his farking sister.

If someone in my birth family was on fire and I had a bucket of water, I'd pour it in my dogs' dishes. I own them nothing and neither does Madonna. That goes double for my wife's kin.

2011-10-22 01:10:08 PM
why my sister is a multibazillionaire, and I'm homeless on the street?

Because you're an adult and capable of living somewhere other than the street? If you weren't a useless piece of shiat, that is.

Get fired from family business, expect rich and famous sister to take you in.

This actually isn't that far removed from how most Americans think.

I guess it would suck in the summer.

Really they ought to be migratory since by definition they have nothing holding them in any one place. I guess those would be hobos. Which, granted I'm not an expert on them, I get the impression we used to have a lot more of. Did our homeless get lazy or was it overhyped back in the days?

Or they could all just move to some place that's always pretty nice weather-wise and is generous with the benefits. A golden-state, if such a place exists.

What you should be asking yourself is what kind of horrible shortest you have to be to get fired from your own families business I'll repeat that incase you missed it: he got FIRED by his own family. This is a person so horrible his own family couldn't stomach his shiat anymore, and so useless he literally can't support himself without being GIVEN money. I say let him rot. If he's lucky, feeling sorry for yourself will become legal tender and he'll be rich again.

You gotta wonder how big a screw-up this guy is to get kicked out of a cushy job at a vineyard named after his own family.
