How dare those Iraqis not cowtow to our demand! We should invade and occupy them!

Wow this was at the end:

Obama 2012 Campaign Reaction to Romney criticism

"The President kept his pledge to the nation to end the war in Iraq in a responsible way, he has promoted our security in Afghanistan and eliminated key Al Qaeda leaders while strengthening American leadership around the world. Mitt Romney didn't lay out a plan to end the war in Iraq in his foreign policy agenda - he barely even mentioned Iraq - but he is apparently willing to leave American troops there without identifying a new mission. Mitt Romney's foreign policy experience is limited to his work as a finance executive shipping American jobs overseas."
-Press Secretary Ben LaBolt

That is a farking buuuuuuuurrrrrrnnnnnnnnn

Hands down, that is the single most awesome press release I have ever seen.

That right there guaranteed my vote for 2012.

/Well, that and the fact that the GOP field is a pack of lying, economically retarded, narrow-sighted morans.

That last switch out of staff brought some fire into the West Wing, fire that I've been waiting a farking long time for. This is I think the third iteration of the White House, and I like it.

Also, I like how it only mentions Mitt, like nobody else is even worth mentioning.

Bachmann's response is confusing. Did she just randomly Google 'number of US troops stationed outside the US' and see what turned up? Honduras?

God dammit I love campaign season. The gloves really come off.

This is what we are going to see as a theme for probably most of the campaign. Obama's got the commander in chief credentials of any president in my lifetime -- yes, even St. Reagan, Republicans *coughIranContracough* -- and no matter what, he will be running against someone who has zero foreign policy experience. Zilch.

The funny thing is, he has singlehandedly stolen the Republicans' thunder on what used to be their central plank: "keeping America safe". They literally cannot touch him on what used to define them as a party.

2011-10-21 09:56:50 PM
Jon Huntsman reply seemed fairly well thought out and reasonable. So, clearly he's going to dip even lower in the polls

GAT_00: Also, I like how it only mentions Mitt, like nobody else is even worth mentioning.

That's my favorite part. None of those other morons will be on stage with Obama, and he knows it, so he's simply pretending they don't exist and sending all of his criticisms to Romney, which is like picking up a girl dressed as "slutty nurse" at a frat party on Halloween.

Honestly, I don't want to see a headline saying "President Obama responds to former Godfather Pizza CEO's plan to make carrots the official currency of the United States", or "President Obama responds to frightening child hoarder Michele Bachman about her cake recipe."

Cain: "When I was running Godfather's, we were sourcing ingredients from all over the planet. And even when it comes to pizza, the labor market and product market are still global. You can't afford to not be competitive."
Obama: "I killed Osama bin Laden."
Cain: "..."

I'm deeply concerned that President Obama is putting political expediency ahead of sound military and security judgment by announcing an end to troop level negotiations and a withdrawal from Iraq by year's end

psst....everybody has known the deadline for 3 years

2011-10-21 10:54:31 PM
Michelle Bachmann: We have been ejected from a country by the people that we liberated and that the United States paid for with precious blood and treasure.

How dare those people we liberated demand we leave their country! It's ours! We paid for it in blood!

2011-10-21 11:00:40 PM
Mit would suck ANY cock that helped his cause.

President Obama's astonishing failure to secure an orderly transition in Iraq has unnecessarily put at risk the victories that were won through the blood and sacrifice of thousands of American men and women.

2011-10-21 11:02:17 PM
From Michelle Bachmann's statement: The United States needed a working democratic partnership in Iraq and we should have demanded that Iraq repay the full cost of liberating them given their rich oil revenues.

This can't be true. Please tell me this woman is not so insane that she thinks we should charge a country for invading them. Seriously?

I guess they need a little more time to sync talking points.

-------------------

Seriously, though: Obama, conservative that he is, would have gladly kept the troops in country longer if the Iraqis were willing to extend them immunity from their laws. By not doing so, the Iraqi government is, for all intents and purposes, kicking us out.

Which is fine with me--I'm damn glad the troops are coming home.

Obama however would be keeping tens of thousands of troops over there indefinitely if he had the choice.

Why not? These very same people are currently pressing the point that the poor aren't quite paying their fair share in taxes.

I think if I were Obama, at this point I'd just start showing up for press conferences in a Sarah Palin t-shirt, openly talk about giving the country back to "real Americans", and forward everyone in the press a bunch of emails that talk about Diamond Rio songs being banned from radio stations or illegal immigrants who get free housing. Just to see how deep the derp can go.

We destabilized their country, killed thousands of civilians, blew the hell out of their infrastructure, and allowed al-Qaeda to gain a foothold in a country that was once their enemy.

You're welcome.

That's what I figured. Rush Limbaugh the spokesperson for the Republican party wasn't on for them to know why are they are made at Obama for this so they all have to come up with things on their own and are lost.

It is sad that they can't just say "We are happy to see the end of the Iraq war, and our servicemen and women taken out of harms way. This is a great day for America".

That is what they would say if it were a Republican President.
