What is with these Georgia banks? Why do FL and GA banks seem to be making headlines more than other banks in other states?

The banks went nuts lending money for housing development with money from outside investors rather than local depositors.

83 banks have failed this year,

Interesting. I was driving through Decatur the other day, saw the Decatur First Bank building. I remember their start-up years ago. When I saw the building, I remember idly wondering about their financial solvency.

There is a Fidelity Bank literally across the street, so that shake-out will be interesting.

useless article is useless.

It lists the assets and the deposits but not the liabilities. I guess they thought there would be no math.
