heh I've been in SW:TOR beta for about 2 months now

I made the mistake of buying Cataclysm. I played it sparingly for a month or so and said "why am I still playing this tired garbage".

Have not looked at WoW since and I don't ever plan to again. Now Diablo 3 and SWTOR....sure.

Everquest 2 did this a couple of expansions ago.

Yup, they should have developed some bad ass mounted combat system in addition to finally adding a player/guild housing system. Anything to break away from the RAID RAID RAID syndrome.

You dont like raiding? c'mon - what could be better than studying certain parts of a game more intensely than you studied chemistry... The grinding away at it with a group of squabbling guilds who may or may not feel like working together in the least? The long slow and fun killing road of upgrading your awesome purples for slightly better purples so that other groups will let you play with them...

I like playing wow at first but after about a month its not an adventure - its a task to be done.

Meh, I might have come back if they did something drastically different. Multiclassing/PvP that doesn't require hours of grinding for you to even have a chance of competing/ realm PvP in a more open world.

Meh, I guess I'll just play BF3 and swtor until Planetside 2 comes out. If this mediocre expansion is anything to go by I have a bad feeling about what is going to happen with D3.

Count me out. After the bad taste of Cataclysm and starcraft 2 I won't be purchasing any Blizzard products again. Yes that includes D3. The talent is either burned out or simply doesn't care.

Hey I think it is financially sound to spend 77 dollars on an annual pass to get a free game that will probably cost between 50 - 60. Even if I don't play WoW because I get a new mount in the game!!!

I feel the need to come in this thread and say that I won't be resubscribing for this expansion

I just find it funny that they're doing all manner of stuff in this expansion that the player community had been asking them to do for years, putting to lie all their lame excuses for not doing so. Cross-faction species? "We can't do that cause it'd be confusing in PvP". Less than 5-player dungeons? "We can't do that because it'd detract from the 5-man/raid experience". battlebot/battle-pet mini-game? "That's just stupid". Pandarens? "What are those? /Seriously, it's in the lore?/ Oh, well the Chinese won't like it." Now if they'll just make mini-factions for Paladin, Druid, and Shaman players to be part of, and they'll have hit the majority of the cosmetic story-type complaints players have had for years. I guess having a game like Rift come along and really start challenging their market share has lit a fire under them.

It'd have been nice if they hadn't forgotten they existed for a few years, and written them out of existence in the interim. Then again, Kul'Tiras -a whole Britain-sized island- is still written out, and they blew up a whole subcontinent in Cata just to get people to stop clamoring to see the Goblin homeland and the city of Undermine, so I suppose a single civilization in Southern Kalimdor shouldn't be such a big deal. Good to see the giant pandamen back, though.

D3 is going to suck. Sorry.

Say what you want, but this guaranteed I'll be a subscriber until it drops, and probably at least a year after (free D3!). It's like they came to my house and asked me what it would take to keep me as a subscriber.

- Revamped talent system that offers real customizability
- Avenues to getting Valor Points (and good gear) that doesn't involve raiding
- A new race with an awesome new starting area (Worgen was cool), and a new class to master
- "3 man dungeons", what looks to be short, scripted instances that allow you to do something productive if you only have a couple buddies around

I've been a WoW subscriber continuously since it dropped. I've never been a hardcore raider, playing evenings/weekends and mostly leveling up characters and at times doing some light dungeoning/PVPing. These days I play for a few hours a week at best, just because real life and other games get in the way. I've got a 4 person guild consisting of two RL friends and my wife that we just use for the bank/having an easy way to chat. I know that even with dungeon/raid finders I'm never going to experience high end content/be able to get the best gear, but I still can get characters to max and do dailies easily enough.
