Arevalos, 41, was with the San Diego Police Department for 18 years before being fired earlier this year when the charges -- including assault under the color of authority, sexual battery by restraint, false imprisonment and soliciting or receiving a bribe -- were filed.

Defense lawyer Jan Ronis, in his opening statement, told jurors they should keep an open mind because the women were under the influence of alcohol at the time, which "skewed" both their perception of events and their memories.

So, the defense's strategy is not to say it never happened, but that they were drunk while he fingerbanged them on duty while threatening them with jail time.

That isn't going to get them very far.

Cop math:

Finger a woman in exchange for letting her out of a DUI + no one dies = 20 years hard time;

Summarily execute a handcuffed man lying face down on the platform of a subway station = a few months in the state pen, plus benefits.

Wasn't it 2 months ago where 2 cops admitted to rape and where subsequently found Not Guilty?

The DA's more likely to throw the case than not.

2. Convienence stores have video. Disable/turn off/ take recording.
3. Destroy all evidence that could be used against you.
4. Nearing elections, research candidates .to see if any are going to be tough on crime (especially public employees).
5. Deny everything, even when presented with a grand jury subpeona.

justanotherfarkinfarker: /gotta love a girl with random DNA that isn't her in the underwear.

Funny thing is that I read that line in TFA about the unidentified male DNA in her panties and all I could think was that the defense is going to run with that plus the alcohol.

"She was drunk and promiscuous. The activity between the two was strictly consensual. My client is guilty of nothing more than bad judgement and sex-addiction, for which he is receiving counseling and treatment. He's as much the victim here as anyone."

A DUI will cost you over 5K in most states. Really thousands more because it could hurt employment down the road (unless you are in congress or president). So if you are not rich: yes.
Most girls would fark a guy for 5K-10K even if they aren't whores. Talk to any single girl you know in the 20-35 range, pick out a random guy in a bar or something and say hey would you fark that guy if he gave you 10K (assuming he isn't like the nastiest sob in the joint) $100 says she would say yes.
