I thought they ended this foolishness when they stopped naming all their phones with 8s and 3s and 0s ... "I think it's the 8830 or the 8330. I can't tell because it's 4 point reversed Helvetica Narrow. Does it have a camera? Is it red?" But what are the options? BBC? BBQ? BBS? They're all taken, including the single-digit numbers. But knowing RIM, they'll choose BB0, and say, "That's a zero, not an 'O'."

Maybe BBQ. Start a meat-based OS similar to Android's sugary OS names.

How the fark did they not notice that one? This is the kind of thing you license rights for way back when you first pick the name.

RIM is about 3 years away from Microsoft buying them, and integrating everything good about BES into Exchange and ActiveSync.

And the world will be a better place for it.

They should call it the "Job" merely for the lulz. Company is going down the tank anyway.

Maybe they should pick another letter. "W" is close to "X", that should work!

Let's try it.

RIM job applicants wanted for BBW.

Is that better?

Fedora beat them to it, alas.

Still better than Canonical's aliterative oddball adjective/obscure animal naming scheme.

BBX? They're still around? Holy crap. In 1986, I started working with an accounting package implemented in BBX. Thought it was cool for its day, particularly the database, but that was long ago. Now I feel old.

Watching Blackberry fall is like watching the Tyson/Douglas fight. Just let it go Blackberry. Your days are over.

I think the next-generation BlackBerry OS is already called "Ice Cream Sandwich."
