Heh.

I like ink.

I like piercings.

And diversity.

And I have met a lot of people from Fark and I think it is cute how opinionated and off-putting some people on this site are - unintentionally.

I get that we humans have evolved to reject those who do not look like we do.

It's a leftover from our primal days. It's a survival tactic.

2011-10-21 04:08:41 AM
Yeah, diversity and all that. But our survival depends upon our ability to read other people. Why does that kid think he needs that hardware through his face and what is behind that tough-guy stare? And do I want him to work for me or be around my house after dark?

2011-10-21 04:16:43 AM
That's exactly my expression when I'm fapping to my neighbor through her window.

In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have said that.

2011-10-21 04:21:15 AM
Diversity is how we identify the people we're better than.

Did you break the window with your dick or something? She's probably going to notice you're doing it if your dick is in her window.

Put that cream stuff back on and go hug your mother. Bet she'll cry when she sees you.

No, you can't judge a book by the cover, but if the candy wrapper says "Nuts" you can guess what's inside.

Good intensity!
Nice eye contact!

Now go farkin' shoot yourself.

Sometimes, the case may be that your only reason to exist is to serve as a cautionary tale to others.

Yeah, I made an off-hand comment about ink one time on Fark. ONE time. And I think it's cute how satire and sarcasm is ok on Fark, except when it comes to ink.

Also, I think it's cute when people say "cute" in a condescending way. That's totally cute.

He's great! He's an exceptionally unique individual, just like everybody else. I like the tattoo craze, at least it's internet voice. Life rarely presents such a great opportunity to watch all the tattooed people white knight tattoos as if they aren't a trend, and that the majority of people getting tattoos anymore aren't scene jumping, trend following douchebags. It isn't enough that everyone knows that down to our very DNA and everything about us makes us all unique and unmatched individuals on the planet, sometimes a face tattoo is needed. It's nice to hear the stories on the net about how people with tattoos shouldn't be judged socially or in relation to work despite the fact contemporary popular culture shows us that a self entitled, rich girl or roided out gym rat is more likely to get sleeved tattoos including every known genre of the style, than some true, from the heart, 'these tattoos mean something to me' unique individual.

So, it's an advert for a coverage creme that takes a team of 4 makeup artists to apply? Nah, I'm good. I'll just carefully consider the imagery and location of the next tat I get.

With the make up on, that bad ass stare just looks stupid.

When I was in high school I worked at a mom & pop video store and would get to keep all the movie posters we got.

I would hang a bunch on my bedroom walls, the ones that really looked neat.
Even if I didn't see the movie, if the poster was cool, I'd hang it.

Then every couple of weeks I'd say "I'd tired of looking at that poster" and I would take it down.

Rick Genest, aka Zombie Boy.

This guy is a fashion model, believe it or not.

This is also a guy who can be found in the grimiest of punk duds eating at greasy spoons in Montreal. Saw him at The Green Spot a few weeks back. To see him on the street one expects to watch him dash into traffic, squeegee in hand, for spare change.

Exactly how is diversity a benefit?

Do you want your life to depend on a rope with diverse threads, or unified threads?

In a crash, do you want diversity in a car body, or do you want uniformity?

Do we not refine metals to remove the diverse impurities out of them?

Would you want a diverse number of people accessing your bank account, or just you?

In my experiences I have found the people who trumpet diversity the loudest least want to put it into actual practice. They do not favor diverse people (including thieves) moving into their houses or apartments. They do not favor diverse usage of their personal transportation. They do not favor diverse use of their assets. I have yet to see even a single person trumpeting diversity open their home to a homeless person. This is what we call "hypocrisy".

It's a pity these faux-compassionate people have not used the brains God gave them to draw a logical conclusion to their thoughts and beliefs. It sounds good that someone should be free to do whatever they want. Who could possibly be against freedom, right? The problem is for someone to do that, freedom necessarily has to be plundered from someone else. This is the entire legal reasoning behind "your right to swing your arms stops at my nose".

So if you want to be an idiot like Skeletor there, then I should be perfectly free to deny you employment in my business. And if you exercise the freedom to render yourself perfectly unemployable, then society should be free to allow you to starve to death. To do otherwise means taking plunder (freedom) from someone else to compensate for your freedom to make fatal choices. That, no matter how you want to rationalize it, doesn't fit the true definition of "fair".

Hey subby, do some research before you post a stupid headline. I think he's doing fine with finding work. In fact, it seems that he's doing a job as a spokesperson in this video, making your headline a double-fail.

A spokesman for a pretty effective product too, as it would appear.

Sarah Palin's Conscience: I get that we humans have evolved to reject those who do not look like we do.

It's a leftover from our primal days. It's a survival tactic.

Not necessarily true...consider the barbaric days of raping and pillaging. The victors would take the foreign women and impregnate them, thus mixing the gene pool (as is the purpose of sexual reproduction) and increasing the chances of the offspring mutating new traits that aid in survival.

There exist people that I'll call, "sticker people". You've all seen them. Their cars are covered in bumper stickers. Save this, save that, I'm better than you in some way.

I learned when I was 8 or so that stickers are great until you want them gone, and then you have to work to get rid of them. I put a lot of stickers on my bedroom mirror and it really didn't take that long before I didn't like them there. They were the fancy mylar ones of 30 years ago that would cling for dear life and were miserable to remove. I learned an important lesson from that experience.

Sticker people never learned that lesson. Tattoo people are a subset of sticker people.

I think it's cute how non-conformists do things that conform to what other non-conformists do and then claim that it's an expression of individuality. It's also cute how they assume that said individuality can only be expressed via this physical gimmickry. It's all very cute.

I like playing in my band that has four drummers in it (we only play one song anyway) before eating my unified diet of mayo on white bread. Afterwords I like to going to the library to reread the Bible, since it is the only book that matters anyway. Yup, pure routine for me, diversity is for the devil.

"In March 5, 2010, A Facebook fan page was created about Rick's unusual choice of tattoos. This page reached 1,516,145 members..."

Then he was "discovered" by Lada Gaga's fashion director and put in videos. And now he models.

Kind of sounds like "work found him".On facebook. After he was homeless. And I'd say it found him because he is covered in tattoos. Kind of like a circus freak of old.

Sorry, I see someone with that much ink and I think one thing...he'll pull a face like this:

How do you judge a book?

I judge a book by it's cover. That's what the cover is there to do... give you a generalized impression of the contents. I find the same to be true of people as well.

Honest Bender: How do you judge a book?

This.

I have the ability to interact with a finite number of people in my life, at least in a more than casual way. There are more people than I have time. A selection process has to start somewhere. A normal* amount of ink will not affect our likelihood of interaction. If you have a shiat-ton of ink I don't want to talk to you. That's OK because I realize you probably don't want to talk to me either.

*normal is a completely arbitrary amount and is completely subjective, there are a number of variable including but not limited to the style and subject matter of said ink, location how attractive you are, personal hygiene and whether or not I think you would sleep with me.

From the wall of a tatoo parlor I was in once:

"The difference between people with and without tattoos is that those with tattoos dont care if you dont have one."

juuuust a little overboard for my tastes, but to each his own.
