Plenty of places have this. The question is, do you really want to play that kind of "Russian Roulette?"

I'm pretty sure Chris Rock's bit about there being no sex in the Champagne Room was for his wife's benefit or something.

So there was "breast feeding" going on?

"We're going to show a pattern of illegal activity. Some of it is on video," said Forest Park City Attorney Joe Harris. The violations, he said, "would include prostitution, gambling, sodomy (and) solicitation of prostitution."

Um, sodomy is illegal?

From Wikipedia: On June 26, 2003, the U.S. Supreme Court in a 6-3 decision in Lawrence v. Texas struck down the Texas same-sex sodomy law, ruling that this private sexual conduct is protected by the liberty rights implicit in the due process clause of the United States Constitution. This decision invalidated all state sodomy laws insofar as they applied to noncommercial conduct in private between consenting civilians and overruled an 1986 ruling in Bowers v. Hardwick which upheld Georgia's sodomy law.

So... it's not illegal in Georgia?

They still count buying a BJ as "sodomy" I think.

"Georgia law section 16-6-15 prohibits the solicitation of sodomy and imposes up to a 12 month sentence and $1,000.00 fine if someone is determined to be guilty of soliciting an adult. For the purposes of obtaining a conviction, the Georgia court has determined that the term 'blow job' is not too vague a term to support the conviction of soliciting for sodomy"

So it's kind of a sodomy law.

Anything that isn't penis-->vagina in the bonds of matrimony used to be sodomy in Georgia.

shakedown time.

Know an owner of an ATL club. Most taxes come in the form of paper bags given to a Deputy Sheriff each month. These clubs didn't make their nut, so here we are.

And fark So. ATL, farkers couldn't all get together as one and conjugate a verb.

I know it is their job, but it irks me when investigators go out of their way to bust consenting adults doing consenting activities.
Honestly don't know the conditions the ladies are under, but I assume it is much better than common street walkers. I'm guessing these ladies also get a wage for dancing which means they do not have to rely on prostitution alone. A strip club is safe away from any minors, both worker and customer (fake IDers notwithstanding)

Why is South Atlanta against putting young ladies through college?

The entire Bible belt has that definition. Feel the awesome.

A little background.

Clayton County (where these clubs are) had to be forced by the courts to give them their liquor licenses. More than one Sherriff has campaigned on the platform of shutting these dens of scum and villainy down. They are always going out of their way to harrass the operations.

If this had been in the city, no one would have bothered since they are straight clubs.

It's always been considered sodomy, and this isn't a Georgia thing;

sod·omy
noun \ˈsä-də-mē\
anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex; also : copulation with an animal
(new window)

Also, if there is no sex in the champagne room where you are, you are in the wrong strip club.

Came here to say, "And in Erie PA. And Greenwich CT."

ambassador_ahab: Plenty of places have this. The question is, do you really want to play that kind of "Russian Roulette?"
Some people are smart enough to wear condoms.

slayer199: I bet half the strip clubs in the country have some sort of illegal activity going on...drugs, prostitution, you name it. Keep that in mind the next time you go to the VIP.

I'll take that bet. And I'll win. Most strip clubs are under heavy police scrutiny. Some get along with payoffs (see: Atlanta, Erie, Greenwich); others come down heavy on dancers who risk the very lucrative license to legally operate.

In 30 years I've only seen one customer in one strip club start a fight. His ass hit the pavement shortly after. Want to park your car on the notorious 8-Mile Road in Detroit? Park in a strip club lot; they're monitored by video that can be watched from anywhere in the club.

Safest bars in America. Skanky, but safe.

The only reason you're willing to take the bet is that you'd like to personally test the theory.

As far as fighting goes...yes, much safer than most bars. Yes, the vehicles are safe. If you want a little something-something in the VIP...odds are that it's there for a price. Just like drugs (not being sold, being used)..

I once, many years ago, went to a club in North Atlanta that actually came fairly close to fitting that description. It was in a strip mall on Buford Hwy near the 285 intersection, IIRC. No surprise it sucked, really. I just ducked in out of curiosity and stayed less than 15 minutes.
Not typical of Atlanta, but you can see some scary stuff in dicier clubs there, not just in the Clermont.

Ah, that would be Shooter's Alley - home of the Barbie Bandits who it turned out were not actually attractive. You can also hit up Rooster's across the parking lot for the latinas and don't forget Buford Twin Cinema for that retro "jerking off in a room full of dudes" vibe.

And if you go way back, Shooters used to be known as The Lemon Peel, a Chippendale's style club for the ladies.

Some of the best pick ups I ever had were hanging out in that parking lot.

I have never spent more money in a strip club without seeing a neekid girl than the Gold Club. Parking, cover charge, beer girl up front, bouncers hit you up for tips...

The girls were incredible, but that place was for rich folk.

Ah, the Clermont. Lived in ATL for 3 years, and every time someone mentioned that place, it was always "The Clermont Lounge... where strippers go to die."
