That's bad, submitter, and you should fell good about it.

/seriously, good luck to the dude and his family.

That dude is lucky the Eagles were trying to offload Ronnie Brown. It may have saved his life.

That's got to be the happiest guy to ever get a tumor.

"Well, I've got bad news and good news."
"What the good news?"
"You don't have to play for the Eagles."
*happy dance* "Wait, why?"
"You have a brain tumor."
"Damn. Well at least I don't have to play for the Eagles. *happy dance*"

One wonders whether he'll dream about this team.

/more like have a frigging nightmare

2011-10-20 09:55:40 PM
Wow. I would have thought that people getting paid millions for the work their bodies do under significant physical duress would be required undergo a rigorous physical battery of tests with MRI-type stuff every six months or so. Only because of a trade physical? That's scary.

/Good luck to Harrison and his family.

Marcus Aurelius: /more like have a frigging nightmare

no that's us fans who are having a nightmare.

/Vince Young needs to be gone, yesterday.

I was trying to think of something funny along the lines of his life being saved by not being able to leave Detroit but couldn't do it.

2011-10-20 10:22:31 PM
First, Mikel Leshure tears his ACL in preseason.

Next, Jahvid Best scrambles his already scrambled brain with a pair of concussions.

Finally, this guy gets a brain tumor costing us Ronnie Brown.

All of this on top of having a SUPER farkING shiatTY offensive line.

The bubble is bursting on the Lions bubble. Back to reality and it sucks.

I submitted this with the same joke in the headline, so I'm getting a kick...

/I'm a tumor, I'm a tumor, I'm a tumor

2011-10-20 10:27:33 PM
Sure, why would a running back want to go play for the team who is first in the NFL in rushing yards...that would be silly.

/hope everything turns out OK for him.

2011-10-20 10:35:16 PM
Goes to show how fast things change in the NFL. A guy in Detroit is "saved" from having to play for Philadelphia. Who'da thunk it six weeks ago?

So Best might be sitting out the rest of the season, we came up empty-handed in the Ronnie Brown trade to cover him, and we don't even get Harrison back. Oh, and the trade deadline's already gone so we can't trade for anyone else.

Did William Clay Ford decapitate a puppy in the bathroom of a Denny's or something?

the entire offense SHOULD BE THROWING UP JUMP BALLS TO CALVIN JOHNSON anyways

I think we all must have brain tumors. We are living in a world where going from DETROIT to a loaded Eagles team is a bad thing. How does this happen?

I loved him in College. I enjoyed sitting there watching him and rooting for my Cougs. Get well man!
Go Cougs!

Reminds me of when Tony Gonzalez flattened a photographer on the sidelines and knocked him out. At the hospital they gave the photographer an MRI and found he had a brain tumor.

/Hopefully they found it early enough
//Seemed like a good enough guy when he played for Cleveland

You can find running backs on the street. Clinton Portis, Brian Westbrook, and plenty of other guys you can go get for the league minimum.

They have an emerging star at qb, a wr who plays out of his mind, and a defensive line that scares the crap out of offensive coordinators. A lot of teams would kill for just ONE of those things. That is no bubble.

He never would have found out had he not been traded and the prognosis is good for a full recovery. So except for him missing the rest of the season, Mr. Harrison is a very lucky man.

Here's hoping he has a fast and full recovery.

I got the impression it was more that McCoy kind of has the RB position dominated for the Eagles.

Players get a physical every year at the beginning of training camp.

The O-line isn't that bad. The suck at run blocking yes, but they are top 10 in the league for not allowing sacks on a team that is 3rd in the league in passing attempts. They have had 2 bad games.

It's a need that has to be addressed in the offseason but it's no where near as god awful as people claim it to be.

Hey, I think Shaun Alexander is still a free agent. If you need an RB who will take the handoff, dance around for about five seconds, and then fall over untouched, he's your man!

Yeah, it does kind of suck for Detroit's running game. But isn't there a trade deadline workaround using waivers?

Again. Brain tumor saves Jerome Harrison from having to play for the Eagles again.

The fact that he had a brain saved him from being an Eagles fan.

Everybody who ever played for Cleveland should be checked for problems and their kids checked for birth defects. He probably got a double dose of the Cleveland staph and this is how it ended up.

Exactly. James Harrison shouldn't have been fined for his hits, he should have been given awards for making sure Browns players got much-required medical testing.

It's often not very detailed. Guys have passed with severely arthritic hips, necrotic hips, shoulders or knees unstable to the point that they practically dislocated when breathed upon, bulged disks, morbid obesity, a history of head injuries to rival Joe Frazier's, etc., etc. They seem to do a somewhat better job on the trade physicals, I guess because there's a little more economic incentive for the team to have the guy be sound, but still, Harrison's lucky they even found it then.

This.

You know how I know you are a fair-weather fan? No real Lions fan would be complaining about their team this season after having been through a good 10-15 year stretch of sucktitude.
