I like the response to the ad...

"Mitt Romney has a tax plan that cuts taxes for the middle class. This is another pathetic attempt by President Obama's political machine to distract attention from their non-existent record on creating jobs," said Gail Gitcho, spokesperson for the Romney campaign. "Just this morning, we learned that an unprecedented 26 million people are unemployed, underemployed or have stopped looking for work - and President Obama has no plan to deal with it. Barack Obama put forward a second stimulus bill that has been rejected by Congress, and he has yet to offer any alternative."

Especially when this ad has not affiliation with the White House or President Obama. Supporter, maybe. But it's not like this group is funded and speaks for Obama.

What part did you like? The fact that "Just this morning" they figured out that we are severely unemployed as a country? Well no wonder they have kept voting no against every single bill that had to do with job creation they had no clue there was any unemployment at all.

I'm sure they do. All Cain has is that 9/9/9 thing, and that will never fly in a campaign. Hell Romney and Perry took it apart during the debates. You pay x% state tax, now you're gonna pay x% + 9%. Cain can try to John Madden all the math he wants, but most Americans will only see that x% + 9% > x%.

That might be a good idea. Secretly draft 100 similar plans with just enough changes to make them legitemately different but all promoting economic growth through infrastructure construction and raising revenue. Then each time the Republicans block one/knock one down, immediately submit a new one. Force them to say no over and over to "creating jobs". Yeah it is political theater but that is exactly what Boehner, Cantor, and Senator Turtle have been doing.

Because, then each Senator would pick one, and each one would get one vote for, and 99 against.

jigger: Goddam. Fark is turning into Crooks & Liars.

Tha ad happens to make a very true point. Romney's plan will lower millionaire taxes while raising them on the middle class. Republicans have been stumping for that since Obama took office. Also, Fark generally has valid, accurate liberal articles, and horrible, outright-trolling conservative articles. Seriously, just look at the politics page, try to find a conservative article that's not based on outright fallacies.

Agree with it or not, this ad makes Cain's plan look better than Romney's. You and I can add a 9% federal tax + state tax and get it, but I tend to think that most voters think, "Hmmmm, 9% is less than 14%."

Maybe it's because Cain has been pushing the 9/9/9 so much, but I thought of his alternative rather than the presidents...
