If they were smart they would've answered the door looking like a slutty Wonder Woman.

Facepalm....

All I got.

1) Cops suspect heroin dealers but don't have enough info for a warrant
2) Cops place "Heroin for sale" signs up
3) Warrant

It seems like drug use is up or a lot of dumb ones are getting caught.

Possible. But this is also a great way to get back at an ex.

Sounds like dumb white people crime to me.

Alternately, a private citizen aware of the dealer's residence may have posted the signs. Much more likely than either of those options he simply pissed someone off.

Too much work.

Just write up an affidavit citing a "confidential informant" to get the warrant. Don't even have to put the coffee cup down since all you have to do is update the street address fill-in field on the template.

My guess is a competitor or an ex put the signs up.

Stupid dealers.

Everyone knows Craigslist is the place to sell drugs to strangers.

The dumbass tag would have been much more appropriate here.

"The neighborhood response team began this investigation over a year ago because of numerous neighborhood complaints,"

Why, how long would you guys make it? If I hung up fliers and continued to sell heroin for a few months, I might think it was a good idea.

Hypothetical Imperative: Alternately, a private citizen aware of the dealer's residence may have posted the signs. Much more likely than either of those options he simply pissed someone off.

I was thinking neighbors knew what was going on, and decided to give the police a reason to raid the place.

Surely that can't be legal, right?

Don't get me wrong, people peddling heroin deserve to go to jail, but this seems like a pretty stupid and potentially illegal way to make it happen. IANAL though.

Hmmm, let's see:

Two people are having a dispute;

One decides to rat-f*ck the other;

Places signs all over the place, advertising narcotics for sale at enemy's home;

Cops too lazy to smell a rat, bust her;

Jury has to let her go because same person who planted the signs might have also sequestered dope on her property to get her busted.

That about get it?

Sure.

Warrants and illegal searches only apply to GOVERNMENT ACTION. If the neighbor wants to tip off the cops by doing something like that, that's OK by them. You can illegally hack your neighbor's computer, or put a secret tape recorder in their house, too, if you want, and the cops can use the intel all day long to arrest your neighbor if you get something good.

Of course, YOU may be arrested as well if you did anything else illegal; but sure, the cops can use your information. The Exclusionary Rule only applies if the 4th Amd. applies, and for that to work there has to be government involvement in the illegal gathering of the evidence.

Heroin is a trademark of Bayer. You should advertise using the the generic name diacetylmorphine to stay out of trouble.

2011-10-20 08:42:45 PM
Yeah, I kinda doubt they were posting those flyers themselves to unload that massive 10 gram stash of heroin.

or maybe the neighbor put them up, in which case the conviction is thrown out even if the guy had six tons uncut
then he sues the neighbor

egg_mcmuffin: Yeah, give that fat FARK more cookies. Cops are called PIGS for a reason. They are uneducated, lazy, fat, disgusting power hungry narcasistic pricks. I wish the meth lab would've exploded and killed a few of them.

It shows that the neighbor has no idea how you make METH, for one thing.

HEET is isopropyl alcohol. Certainly could be used in extraction or manufacture of some drugs.

I know a guy who makes hash oil with IPA.

Yeah, but they're still stupid enough for the whole neighborhood to know they're holding. But then, junkies don't usually put the "B" in "subtle," do they?

Which, in turn, is precisely why some people find it believable that dealers might actually be this retarded...

I have a feeling somebody in the neighborhood got sick of the police not doing anything about the house, so they went around posting a flier to get the cops off their lazy asses. A full year of investigating and still hadn't moved on the house? Give me a break.

India Pale Ale. Is there ANYTHING it can't do?
