I think he flubbed that joke by ignoring the Rule of Three. It should be set-up, set-up, punchine. He threw in the punchline on the "second thing", and tried to make another joke out of the "third thing" that didn't work nearly as well as the second. It should have been....

1. He can heal people with his hands.
2. He came back from the dead.
3. He's a fictional character.

The first two establish the pattern. The third is the pay-off. He rushed it by going for the laugh on the second item instead of allowing a proper buildup.
