Hey, considering how much the Republicans hate homosexuality, I'd say they're in a pretty good condition to recognize someone who is self-loathing.

He also didn't explicitly denounce the OWSers with athlete's foot. Therefore he implicitly supports poor foot hygiene.

Not surprising.

The worst part about calling everyone you disagree with "Anti-Semitic" is that there are ACTUAL anti Semites out there who REALLY do spread hate and violence, and they're NOT the people on Wall Street.

And yet the GOP elected officials are not racists despite the fact that no one ever condemned any of the over the top racist posters that the teapartiers carried.

I know this is hard to believe for some in other religions, but Jews don't march lock-step in agreement and do what our leaders tell us. We generally love to debate a good argument (and I did not misspeak with that phrase) and disagree on many things from Israel and the Palestinians, to what is kosher, to is that a smudge on the Torah or does that dot represent one of the 613 commandments (and you're not going to hear from anybody more observant today or tomorrow here in the states as it is Simchat Torah).

What, did they think a guy with the last name of ISRAEL wasn't Jewish?

It wouldn't surprise me if the neo-cons shared the same ideas on Jews as John Calvin did.

"Oh Jews aren't so bad. As long as they follow us and convert to Christianity in the end, we can be friends...WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY DON'T WANT TO CONVERT?! Those slimy hook-nosed-"

I'm fairly certain that most neo-cons are also Calvinists.

They just project too much is all.

They know how they would act and expect it from everyone else. Like how Sen. Kyle opposed every single bit of gay rights legislation his entire career even though he himself is - gay.

If John Kyle can be a gay homophobe why can't a Jew be antisemitic?

The Republicans -and the ex-Trotskyite, ex-Dems we now call "Neo-cons"- have been calling Jews who don't agree with them anti-Semites since at least the 1970s. To hear them tell it, there's no greater enemy of the Jewish people alive these days than Jon Stewart.

See, I hate the fact that Israel isn't doing anything to defuse their situation, yet we hand them supertankers full of cash. Thing is, it wouldn't matter if the main religion in Israel was Judaism, Muslim, Christian, Jehovah's Witnesses, or if they worshiped purple trees with orange leaves(I call these people 'Seussists"), it's the support of the country itself I have the problem with, yet I hear the stupid 'Anti-Semite' label as well. Bothers the Hell out of me, but it's just ignorant fools who do it, so I try and be understanding and move on.

Most of the leading lights of neo-conservativism -John Podhoretz, William Kristol, Paul Wolfowitz, some others- are Jewish, so I doubt that. The primary nature of Neo-conservativism, in my view at least, is 1) Unswerving loyalty to the Likud party and it's ethnic/millennial conception of the Israeli state, 2) dedication to using the US military to "spread" their conception of democratic values, 3) an insistence that US prerogatives be acquiesced to a priori in all international dealings, 4) the conflation of Israeli and US interests.

In the beginning, neo-conservatism was primarily about Communism, and really more of a continuance of the feud between the followers of Trotsky and Stalin, but overtime I would say that the concerns of the Israeli right have gradually come to dominate the movement. This is why they are so obsessed with US military adventures in the Near East, and this is why their luminaries, like John Podhoretz, perennially spew the sort of unabashed, eliminationist, anti-Arab rhetoric that you'd typically only find among the settler movement in Israel.

Except that the two examples highlighted as anti-Semites in the video (the 'Google Zionist controlled Wall Street' guy and the 'lotion man' berating the old Jewish man) aren't part of the movement at all. There are photos of OWS protesters condemning the Google Zionist controlled Wall Street guy, holding a sign next to his reading ASSHOLE ->; the self-proclaimed Lotion Man, who makes videos of himself harassing people, is Jewish. Prior to harassing the old Jewish man he made a video of himself harassing the OWS hippies.

So how is Rep. Israel being 'supportive of anti-Semitic tools?

You would probably be surprised at how many gay people are libertarian, and don't support much of the gay rights platform (specifically, anti-discrimination laws [that "protect" gays or any other group]). That doesn't make them homophobes. I know, you won't read their views in the mainstream press, and they don't have any front groups that are constantly screaming and yelling and in your face, but they're out there, and they may even be a majority.
