Holy crap.

2011-10-20 11:52:15 AM
As the SSA explained, "The reason for the difference is that the distribution of workers by wage level is highly skewed."

But the whole 1%/99% thing is just bullshiat and income and wealth disparity should be ignored.

Everything's fine. Inflation is under control and things are really turning around. Just stay the course. Whatever you do, don't stray.

When you harmonize the statistical quirks, both of the lines are parallel.

I don't see why that's a big deal. It's enough to afford a refrigerator, and after government welfare it's closer to $97,000.

So, this is proof of the need to give more tax breaks to the job creators so they can
hoard their money and not spend it on anything?

Got it.

2011-10-20 12:53:31 PM
Pfft! That's still more that $4k over the Federal Poverty limit, and we're not counting people working 2 or 3 jobs, and the US average wage is still $39,959.30.

We're doing A-OK is you ask me!

What we need is a 10-point plan: Decrease-Allow-Deduct-Raise-Allow-Provide-Eliminate-Ma ke-Outlaw-Make Plan.

1) If we decrease the regulatory burden on business, they would have more money to pay on wages.
2) If we allow corporations to repatriate their overseas profits without the fear that they'd be taxed unfairly on them, they'd have money to invest in expansion.
3) If we deduct the money we spend on liberal boondoggles like NPR and foreign aid from the Federal budget, we could rebuild all the infrastructure in America and provide hundreds of thousands of well-paying construction jobs.
4) If we raise a double electric wall along the Mexican border and got serious about immigration enforcement, there would be uncountable new jobs for Americans that have been stolen from them by illegals with anchor babies.
5) If we allow oil companies, coal companies, and gas companies to drill where they wanted, when they wanted, and stopped being terrified of a few oil spills here and there, we'd have more energy jobs than we have Americans.
6) If we provide job creators with a reprieve from their historically high tax rates, they would have more money to invest in well-paying jobs.
7) If we eliminate colleges and universities that do little more than push the Ivory Elite Liberal Agenda, we would no longer have students graduating with crushing debt and they could immediately enter the job market as Free Market Consumers able to use all their income as market reinvestment.
8) If we make unions illegal, businesses would be free to pay workers Fair Wages determined by the Free Market, which would actually mean real earnings would rise because untold billions would not be spent by unions on supporting their corrupt leadership, shell organizations like ACORN, and political campaigning.
9) If we outlaw gay marriage, we could return to the cornerstone of American success in the boom years of the 50s -- the Nuclear Family -- a resource that has been pushed to the verge of extinction by the Gay Agenda.
10) If we make abortion illegal, the birthrate in America would skyrocket, creating a New Renaissance in the nursing, gynecological, and pediatric fields.

Pocket Ninja.

The unthinkable has happened. The untoppable has been topped.

You sir, have not won the Internet, you have faced the Final Boss of the Internet and slain him in fashion so heroic, to look upon you is to look upon the definition of glory and righteousness.

I am humbled to be in your presence.

It's ok, in the South you can buy a house the size of mine for 2.5 times less than what I paid for it, and since the median income is approx 1/3 of what I make, I don't see a problem here.

FTF Headline: The SSA has released the official statistic of the median American wage in 2010: $26,363.55

FTFA: The "raw" average wage--net compensation divided by total number of workers--was $39,959.30, according to the data from the Social Security Administration. But the median wage is far lower: 50 percent of workers earned less than or equal to $26,363.55 for 2010.

2011-10-20 01:42:08 PM
"In addition to the 5.2 million people who no longer have any work add roughly 4.5 million people who, due to population growth, would normally join the workforce in three years and you have close to 10 million workers who did not find even an hour of paid work in 2010."

Some turn out to be those "I am the 53%" douchebags who take pride in the fact that they barely scrape by while working four jobs and eating ramen all day.

The others turn to what credit they have to bridge the gap, which only worsens their long term situation.

WIC, food stamps, state healthcare for kids, low-income housing.

At least that's how I did it when I made $10/hr working as a temp for Symantec(that's 20K/year). The state wouldn't let me drop the state plan when I was hired full time for 21K/year, and Symantec's benefits were awesome and inexpensive (well the dental sucked, but medical and vision was great).

I make almost three times that amount now at a different employer, but have much shiattier benefits I pay more for (ok, the dental is great, the medical and vision suck).
