It was good enough to put on your network, but now it sucks?

Somehow I find it hard to believe that the hosts are the ones choosing the bumper music.

I'm sure the Parents Television Council will be calling for censure of Fox News over their host swearing in a public forum...

Oh, wait, Fox News? Not Sesame Street? Meh, they won't care.

They both have valid points, except only one is being hypocritical.

What's the problem?

Maroon 5 will perform on the network's "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" on Nov. 29 along with "The Voice" colleague Cee Lo Green and Kanye West

Wait - you're going to perform with that bastard 1%-er Kanye? Hypocrite.

I am not a maroon 5 fan, but I think Levine has the right to say "You may have heard my music on Fox News... just be aware that I in no way support the views of that channel" just like Tom Petty, Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen have said in the past when Republican presidential candidates used their songs. Just like if a Democratic candidate for anything used a Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper or Hank Williams Jr. song.

I live in Texas and lots of banks, hospitals, dentists offices, diners, etc. play Fox News on at least one screen.

Why does this matter? They used it. Regardless of which of their employees picked it, they're responsible for using the song to which Maroon 5 has licensing rights over.

You would think that before people did these things, they'd want to chat with the artists to ensure that they had their blessing.

Seems like a lot of times, the artists had no clue that their music was being used for this purpose.

The producers or executive producer chooses the music. If you look at the credits, many of the hosts actually serve as one of the producers of their shows. That way, they have a say in the content of the show.
