Specifically, search queries add the notion of data relationships to results. For example a search of the word "car" might also come with the relationships to insurance, cost, specs, mileage, and who the driver will be. A search for "home" might also include relationships to community, schools, financing, insurance and so on.

So... it gives me results for terms that I didn't search for? Time to go back to retirement, Mr. Hammer.

U can't touch WiREDoo. Break it down.

2011-10-20 11:42:14 AM
So.... a search engine for retards?

I suspect that this search engine will just link straight to ads depending upon the search term. And people who search for "car" or "home" deserve to be taken.

Hey, it's search the search engine that just does what it wants to do, says what it wants to say, lives how it wants to live, plays how it wants to play, dances how it wants to dance, kick and its slaps a friend. (The Hammer Search Engine)

Okay, let's get it started: When Hammer developed this engine, he wanted to use the slogan "Feel My Power" but the corporate backers said it wasn't a good idea. Hammer, feeling the idea was too legit to quit upon, took the concept to other backers to pump it up. "I think when they put me in the mix, the realized they were dealing with a quality project and they wanted to work with me to turn this mutha out," Hammer, real name Stanley Burrell, said in a recent interview. "I wanted people to say 'Yo! Sweetness! Here comes the Hammer' when we unveiled this product. I mean, have you seen her...the search engine, I mean? Seriously, do not pass me by on this one. You're gonna dig it!" Hammer said he's going to pray that he'll get the backing he needs to get the project off the ground. "Give me two pumps and a bump and this thing will be off the charts!" he concludes.

I suspect it will try to narrow down your focus to force you into looking at an ad.

Me: "Car"
Hammer: "do you want to search for car insurance? new car models? car rentals? car financing?"

in order to force me to choose an ad / commission site.

Stupidly obvious, but might just work on the, um, less than savvy urban web user.

Wiredoo? Really???

2011-10-20 12:07:12 PM
The irony is that the name for his search engine is un-googlable.

/ fail

2011-10-20 12:07:26 PM
Today MC Hammer introduced his new search engine, called WIREDoo, at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.

The name is stupid and doesn't stand out. It is worse than "Bing". He should have named it "Hammer". It has a better ring to it.

At one point in the early to mid 2000s, Kevin Federline launched a search engine.
I actually searched for "Kevin Ferderline" in the engine just to see if the cosmos would collapse in on itself.
I look forward to tryin again with HammerTime.

To be fair, it was a branded version of Yahoo search. This is a completely new system, which means it's a game changer.

And by game changer, I mean it will change absolutely nothing. If you're going to take market share away from Google, you have to do something better than Google does. And returning less-exact results will not do it.

JWideman: Is it just me, or does it sound like a LESS useful search engine than google?

I think they are currently ALL less useful than Google, with the exception of WolframAlpha. This sounds more like Bing, someone TELLS you what you were looking for all along, rather than you having to use your brain and decide what you wanted.

I love how the Bing commercials make you look like you get some kind of overload from Google. 99.75% of the time, what I want is in the first 3 search results, and 99.99999999% of THAT time, I am able to figure out which link I want to click on just from the quick synopsis on the results page. I'm not really sure how you can get better than that. The key is having an idea how to effectively search, and I was rather impressed that it was a part of my kids' homework in 7th grade, they would get questions, and have to learn how to find the answer on the internet, it wasn't covering anything they had learned in class, or that was in their textbooks.

So what you are saying is that everyone would do well to tailor search engines to fit your needs, use, and experience level? And since you are satisfied they can stop now? Because I think there might be some other people using the internet too. And they might be a little diverse.

No, what I'm saying is that even a 7th grader can figure out Google.

That's what I'm saying. In other words, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to search the internet on Google. Take from that what you will...

Can your mother do it?

Why Yes I Am A Wizard: Can your mother do it?

Nope, she died in 1975. My father-in-law, on the other hand, can search Google just fine, thanks you, and my wife's 80-year old grandmother seems to have no problem either. This brackets the group pretty well, I think. My teenage stepsons could do it at 13, my wife's grandmother can at 80, and I can use it at 42, seems to cover all of the bases... :-)

Does Hammer start dancing in your peripheral for anyone else when you read the copy?

2011-10-20 08:33:02 PM
When asked what makes his search better Hammer answered, "My, My, My, My, search engine's so good. Help ya find stuff ya never thought you could. Use to find which car is best. Or be real creepy and stalk your ex."

2011-10-21 04:44:56 AM
He probably just wants to launch it, claiming it has unique features, and hope someone like Google buys him out. Then he can buy more parachute pants.
