I know this is off-topic but, maybe I can get a little help. I tried googling but didn't come up with what I need.

For some reason, when I hit the "End" key on my keyboard, instead of working like it should, my browser's Menu Bar (which I keep turned off) opens.

This is annoying and I would like my End key to go back to working like it should. Thanks in advance.

Her 16-year-old son Perry has autism, and like many of the students on the bus, he does not speak.

When she first saw him he appeared shaken up. She took him to get checked out, fortunately he's fine.

But Smith wonders if not for NewsChannel 3's live report if she ever would have found out exactly what happened.

"Their communication system does not work for me.I don't know if they told any other parents that the bus was in the accident or not, but I hope they was watching NewsChannel 3 so they could find out," says Smith.

Seems like she should be more understanding, given her situation.

/their communication system isn't good or bad, just different.

There are programs that re-map keys. Try GlovePIE (new window)

That's awful (but funny), Mr. Hamster. Seriously though, how are we to know if she's one of those people that think that autism isn't a disorder? Ms. Smith may well be a rational parent of an autistic child. Not enough data to judge her and all that...

"nobody never"? How do I know she's black? It okay. The bad grammar is only a dialect.

Bet you it currently goes to the end of the text line in the address bar. Seriously, your advice on "it used to work and now it doesn't," is to start remapping keys? Of course, if he can't even be bothered to tell us which browser, meh.

I find that, "it used to work and now it doesn't" isn't always true. The case is often, "it doesn't work the way I think it should"

Nope. I'm in Alabama right now and the English (ha!) language can be brutalized by anyone, it seems.

Some of the worst dialectical mutilations I've heard were from redneck white trash homosexuals.

Not going to disagree, but how many times you normally see the "end" key in a browser not going to the end of the document? He should try hitting F7 to toggle caret browsing. Wouldn't be the first person to get into that by mistake.

/Hit again to toggle back if it doesn't help.

Ah, interesting. In retrospect, it re-mapping was a fairly idiotic suggestion. No idea why I even said it.

Yeah... it's the End key. It's function isn't complicated and I use it quite a bit. I know how it's supposed to work, and it isn't working that way now. Home still works as it should. I figured out that if I hold Shift, End works like it should. But obviously, something's screwed up if I have to hold Shift.

Probably had a ctrl, shift, or alt key "stuck". Usually mashing them a few times will clear it up.

Yes, how stupid of me to have thought that I accidentally may have hit an Alt or Ctrl key in such a way to effect my keyboard, and that it could be fixed by hitting the correct key again. EVERY problem you will EVER have can ONLY be solved by a restart. Well, now I know. Thank god you were here.

LurkyTheLurker: Probably had a ctrl, shift, or alt key "stuck". Usually mashing them a few times will clear it up.

That's what I was trying. I've had the keyboard do weird things before after accidentally hitting Alt, Ctrl, Tab, etc. in some weird combination. I can usually mash them a few times and get it reset. Evidently that wasn't the case this time, but a restart cleared it up.

The same thing happened to the grandson's bus. It just left the school parking lot and 2 blocks away crossed to the left side of the street and ran into a tree. I only found out because my sister lives by the school and called me. It turned out that her husband's nephew was driving and passed out. He was not going very fast since these were side streets, but they had the students walk back to the school and put them on a different bus. No parents were called that I know of (my daughter never got called). It was a long bus by the way.

Bashing people for suggesting restart as a #1 problem solution step is kinda ignorant IMHO. It solves a lot of issues that are hard to reproduce, and a waste of time and money to troubleshoot.

If the issue keeps reappearing, then naturally it should be further investigated by some outsourced Indian support tech.
