Should've used 140 for the headline, Subby.

I can't wait till I see the following class added to college requirements: Communication 376: Using Twitter effectively. It's a 300 level course because you must be well into your communication major in order to take it.

Not a twitter user but... why doesn't it just post the text after the cutoff as a second post? That's what would happen if I send a text to a friend with more than 150 characters - he/she would just get two texts.

It was right the first time, actually.

That is some funny shiat... It wouldn't have helped me or hurt me though, because I absolutely refuse to use Twitter, but that is funny as Hell...

I was expecting it to be a story about the further adventures of Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Maricopa County Arizona, he wouldn't have been smart enough to figure out a workaround though, unless it somehow involved a news camera and a media whoring event.

Props for trying to keep people informed through popular channels, at least.

There are ways to post longer "tweets" (hate that word), and the end of the post just includes a link that opens the longer message in a browser.

Hell, Milla Jovovich posts long messages all the time on Twitter (Yes, I follow Milla Jovovich, and you should too - girl's a hoot, and she posts videos from her movie set, and first-hand accounts of stunt women who nearly get killed on set)

Of course it isn't "e".

"e" is an irrational and transcendental number. You couldn't begin to fit it into 140 characters.

e begins 2.718 281 828 4 ... You can sing it to the tune "Good King Wincelas". This tune was originally a spring song which wandering late medieval students sang while busking for their bread. It is in the Carmina burana.

Tempus adest floridam, surgent namque flores ....

The weather is becoming warm, the flowers are now in bloom ....

Just one of the many odd things that Brantgoose knows for no good reason.

To be fair...this is Zanesville were talking about. That damn place simply got lost trying to find its way to the south. Damn displaced rednecks.

Seriously, just why does twitter have such a low character limit? Doesn't make any sense to me at all and I don't even use twitter

Good point, but that also limits those who have a logical, legitimate reason for using more than 140 characters

I thought it was based on how many ASCII characters fit into a certain amount of bytes.

I once heard something like that too, but today's connection speeds can easily handle much more than 140 bytes per message

I seem to remember it getting big right before the explosion of smart phones. You were supposed to text your tweets. It was basically SMS blogging. (40404)

I use twitter for the humor and comedians. I appreciate the wit necessary to be funny in 140 characters or less.
