I'd love for the judge deciding the issue to point to these tactics and say "See! This right here! This is why you can't have nice things! Or T-mobile, either, for that matter!"

What really pisses me off are the commercials they are running in the DC market that
tout how many jobs the merger will bring back to the USA from overseas, just because
T-Mobile is owned by a German company.

More likely they'll just have to pay $1.95 per line to move the call center numbers from
Mumbai to New Delhi.

/Lifelong AT&T customer; they suck no more than any other wireless provider.

I use to love Cingular. What AT&T did to that network should be the defining reason for them to never be allowed to "acquire" any other cell carrier.

Huh? And you know this how? Because you haven't been a customer of any other wireless provider?

Through work, I am quite familar with Verizon and their services. It seems to be about
on par with AT&T (some areas better, some worse, roughly similar pricing).

Where's that graphic of AT&T being split up and then being merged again...

Might I suggest trying T-Mobile, if they're good in your area. I'm not saying they're perfect, but they're a damn sight better than Ma Bell.

I'm still tied to AT&T by a contract on one of my phones, and price wise T-Mobile wouldn't
be any cheaper for me.

My length of time with AT&T gives me better pricing on phones, so it doesn't make sense
to change.

Reasons I stay with T-Mobile.

UMA - I have signal wherever I have wifi. In a plane, a datacenter, etc..
Unlimited International Calling - For $15 a month, I can call landlines in most civilized countries, and have unlmited intl texting.
International Blackberry Plan - For $20 a month, I can go anywhere in the world and not have any data charges blackberry services.

I've been hearing their ads on the radio say shiat like "With the planned ATT/T-Mobile merger, we're planning to bring 5,000 jobs back to America from overseas." Call me naive, but I fail to see how having a bigger company would encourage you to not outsource, and why not having a merger is preventing you from doing so.
