Considering the fact that "Dr" Conrad Murray didn't even know the proper procedure for administering CPR, I'm sure it never occurred to him to lift Michael Jackson's chin.

I'm not a doctor, or for that matter, do I have any medical expertise, but even I know you don't perform CPR with the patient lying on a soft surface (a bed, in this case), nor do you use only one hand when doing chest compressions.

I think that like they say about politicians, anyone who really wants to be Michael Jackson's doctor is unsuitable for the job.

If only there was something he could have used as an airway for a patient on propofol, you know, BECAUSE THEY ARE ALMOST ALWAYS INTUBATED!

I'd hate to see what farkers will say when I tell them that when a simple chin lift doesn't work, the next step is to try a jaw thrust.

If that is truly the reason he died, that is farking pathetic and sad and I can't believe Dr. Murray hasn't killed anyone before. Nice headline, BTW.

You are assuming he wanted him to survive.

Murray was a well respected Cardiologist. I can assure you he knew how to perform CPR.

The stuff I posted about him performing CPR on a soft surface & only using one hand on the chest compressions is part of the trial testimony. He may be a cardiologist, but he wasn't performing CPR correctly according to more than one witness.

Obviously not, but I guess I should have clarified that him not performing CPR properly was part of the trial testimony.

Or he may have realized he was completely dead and CPR would have been pointless. A half-assed gesture on his part. Gone briefly to take a pee? My ass.

Oh, and another thing, Murray had plenty of reason to want MJ to survive. 150000 reasons a month, to be exact.

And they're blaming the doctor? How about the tech whose job it was to maintain Michael's tongue servo?

I don't think it was a case of "failing" to save Michael Jackson. I think a group of people realized Michael Jackson would be worth more in posthumous releases and merchandising, and they allowed him to die. `Perhaps even assisted in that goal.

I know. It's all conspiracy theory-like... But it sure seems like Jackson was trying to get out of being the performance workhorse they wanted him to be, and they were determined to make as much money from him as possible, whatever it took.

Where ya getting that from? I saw that movie they made from his practice performances, and he was good. Quite good--just like he used to be. Someone would have been rolling in cash if he'd lived to do that tour. Maybe he was tortured to death behind the scenes, but I guess he'd been that way his whole life already. That tour would have been a smash hit.

Do we even know how long Michael hadn't been breathing by the time Murray found him? If it was for anything more than a few minutes, raising his chin would likely have done fark all to save him. Yet another desparate bid to try and get some closure out of an otherwise avoidable death.

Apparently I fail at reading. That being said, a two minute bathroom break is well enough time to render CPR ineffective; especially when narcotics are involved.

Exactly.

I wonder why he suddenly forgot how to perform a basic medical task?

In his panicked mind he probably thought his chances were better with a dead celebrity under mysterious circumstances than a half dead one that can testify.

I cannot believe that he honestly tried to resuscitate MJ to the best of his ability, so I can only surmise that other factors came into play.

Realistically speaking, had the doctor not prescribed MJ what he wanted, he wold have found his self replaced in short order. I don't know about what the rest of you see, but in every last picture I see of this guy, his eyes tell the whole story. He's farked, and he knows it. Not only did he shiat where he ate, thereby ending the gravy-train, allow the most famous patient he ever had to die under his watch, with all those drugs just laying around. Look up deer in the headlights in your Funk & Wagnall's, and you'll find his picture.
