FTFA: Tonya Watkins was one of about 50 fans waiting outside the bail bonds company. Watkins thinks Soulja Boy is innocent.

"I think when it's all said and done the charges against him will be dropped. I don't think he's that type of guy," said Watkins.

I am not sure a rapper is allowed to ride in an Escalade without guns, cash, and weed.

Whenever the cops ask to search your vehicle, you say no.

You would think someone with enough money to hire bodyguards would know how to deal with cops. Sheesh.

This! A broken tailight is not probable cause to search. Just say no.

/Large clouds of pot smoke pouring out of the vehicle WOULD be probable cause, though.

Rapers in an Escalade smoking pot. Would this be considered a clichè?

The cops didn't have to get their permission -- they had probable cause when the driver rolled the window down and a large cloud of marijuana smoke drifted into their faces.

The gun charge is probably the most serious of the alleged offenses and the easiest to hang on him IF the cops are smart enought to dust the gun and they find his fingerprints on it.

The pot is going to be more difficult because you have to prove that it was his. Years ago some punks stole the stereo out of my car and were caught with it in their trunk a few blocks away. Kids get into a police chase, try to get out and run, stolen property in the car --- should have been a slam-dunk case, right? Wrong. Cops didn't dust my stereo equipment for prints, so there was no way to prove that the guys in the car knew the stuff was in the trunk. Very easy to say "Oh, yeah, my buddy borrowed the car last night. What was his name, again... damn..."

It will depend on where the drugs were found (in someone's personal effects?) and/or the spatial proximity to the defendant.

And this is why weed will never be legalized ... why would cops want to give up one of their best tools to get around the Fourth Amendment? Whether it's a thick, sweet-smelling cloud of hydro rolling out the window of a pimped-out Escalade leading to a nice cash forfeiture for the department, to "I thought I detected the odor of marijuana" for your suburban white kids with DMB or Phish stickers on their Subaru, it never fails.

No your just an idiot. Pop is as pop does. Comparing a pop performer to a musician is just dumb. The idea that a pop act could some how affect the greatness of some of the those musicians is insane. Considering extremely talented African American musicians number in the tens for thousands now days I would say your head needs to be removed from your ass.

Rozotorical:

I never said there weren't any extremely talented African American musicians. There are of course, many. When I referred to "their ilk", I wasn't talking about black artists in general. I was talking about morons whose level of lyrical complexity is only determined by how many times they can say "yo yo yo", "n*gga", "biatch" and "f*ck" within a 4 minute time frame. That is the "ilk" I was referring to.

I also never said anything about a pop act affecting the greatness of the others.

You've interpreted my post entirely wrong. My point was up until 20 or so years ago, even "pop" music performed by black artists wasn't used primarily as a means to promote gang violence, racism, drug peddling, mysogyny, and acting like an idiot thug. Much of the popular rap "music" does exactly that.

Black music used to be beautiful. Soulful. Life affirming. Funky. A force for positive social change. Now we have: (and these are the first lyrics I stumbled on at random)

Yo biatch on my dick, she suck me like a vacuum
What the fark you talking bout
Brand new ice soon
fark what they talking bout, biatch I'm a tycoon
Swag everyday, but I don't do this often
Hoes on my dick, I came out the water like a dolphin
nubians getting mad, they some has beens
Took your biatch to the movie, she hot like a jacuzzi
Word around town soulja boy got the potion
biatch I close my eyes, but my third eye is open
Everyday I'm smoking, you would think I was jesus
They want to see me on the cross
I ball everyday like a farking boss

This is not progress. This is what is predominantly portrayed as the face of black America in the media. This is the first thing springs to many people's minds. And it's a goddamn shame.

I got nipples on my titties, big as the end of my thumb,
I got somethin' between my legs'll make a dead man come,
Oh daddy, baby won't you shave 'em dry?
Aside: Now, draw it out!
Want you to grind me baby, grind me until I cry.
(Roland: Uh, huh.)
Say I farked all night, and all the night before baby,
And I feel just like I wanna, fark some more,
Oh great God daddy,
(Roland: Say you gonna get it. You need it.)
Grind me honey and shave me dry,
And when you hear me holler baby, want you to shave it dry.
I got nipples on my titties, big as the end of my thumb,
Daddy you say that's the kind of 'em you want, and you can make 'em come,
Oh, daddy shave me dry,
(Roland: She ain't gonna work for it.)
And I'll give you somethin' baby, swear it'll make you cry.
I'm gon' turn back my mattress, and let you oil my springs,
I want you to grind me daddy, 'til the bell do ring,
Oh daddy, want you to shave 'em dry,
Oh great God daddy, if you can't shave 'em baby won't you try?
Now if farkin' was the thing, that would take me to heaven,
I'd be farkin' in the studio, till the clock strike eleven,
Oh daddy, daddy shave 'em dry,
I would fark you baby, honey I'd make you cry.
Now your nuts hang down like a damn bell sapper,
And your dick stands up like a steeple,
Your goddam ass-hole stands open like a church door,
And the crabs walks in like people.
Aside: Ow, shiat!
(Roland: Aah, sure enough, shave 'em dry?)
Lucille Bogan, 1935

Aside: Ooh! Baby, won't you shave 'em dry
A big sow gets fat from eatin' corn,
And a pig gets fat from suckin',
Reason you see this whore, fat like I am,
Great God, I got fat from farkin'.
Aside: Eeeeh! Shave 'em dry
(Roland: Aah, shake it, don't break it)
My back is made of whalebone,
And my cock is made of brass,
And my farkin' is made for workin' men's two dollars,
Great God, round to kiss my ass.
Aside: Oh! Whoo, daddy, shave 'em dry

Sounds like you may be focusing on what you want to focus on, and ignoring everything to the contrary. The only people who take Soulja boy serious are you, focus on the family and 14 year olds, Also black musician have a long way to go before they reach the depths of white music. Need I remind you of polka, and country music?

FTFY. I don't take it seriously.Other dumbasses do, though. And that's the problem.

"Also black musician have a long way to go before they reach the depths of white music. Need I remind you of polka, and country music?"

Point me towards a few polkas or country songs like this (new window), this (new window), this (new window), this (new window), this (new window)

(These are just a scant few. I could go on for days)

I'd say the depths have pretty much been plumbed, though. I don't personally consider these douchebags worthy of the term "musician". I think the term "shiat merchant" is more accurate.

I appreciate your feedback, but I'm not going to argue the point anymore. You can call me whatever you like. Racist-idiot-narrow minded-whatever... I stand by what I said. The "music" testifies adequately on it's own. Peace. - Gib :-)
