Pray for those poor misguided souls.

Consider the source:

Tito Edwards long journey towards his childhood faith has made him a devout and ardent Christian. He has responded to Blessed John Paul II's and Pope Benedict XVI's call to the New Evangelization by starting up and operating several Catholic websites such as ThePulp.it, VirtuousPla.net, and The American Catholic. He is also a regular contributor for the National Catholic Register. In his free time he reads the Holy Bible, is a member of the Legion of Mary, and is a mentor in Kids Hope USA.

What an asshole (the guy in the mask who smashed the BVM and then was promptly chased away by other citizens).

No thanks.

My first thought was "those stupid douchebags." Then I read the article and while I still retain that thought, fark the blog author while we're at it.

That statue of the BVM was asking for it! His misery is all her fault!!

To be fair, after Wall Street, is there any better example of greed and power abuse than the Catholic Church?

That was absolutely disgusting, and Taliban like.

The Catholic Church invented Social Justice...

Stopped right there. Anyone that writes such tripe in seriousness deserves not one minute of my time.

If it was Taliban-like, they would have used rocket launchers. And slaughtered those praying inside.

This happened in Rome.

Uhm, well whatever's going on in Rome is a bit different than what they're doing here. I think those folks are also mad at the world about the austerity stuff, and their douchebag whore of a president, and who knows what else, most of which we thus far have largely not had to endure here.

I think the real bad guy in all of this is Amanda Knox.

Someone better notify that prosecutor a statue has been vandalized. Seems like the work of a Satanic cult to me...

I don't know, I can never see a constant logic in your posts. Are you really that protective of the Catholic Church? I doubt it, but maybe you are. Who knows.

meh. italy. they do worse to one another after a soccer match.

This is Rome. Nice try, Trollmitter.

Nice work on deflecting from the real scandal facing the catholic church today: stealing Spanish babies for profit.

It's not just good for your soul, it puts money the churches pocket!

Farking scum.

Not only the church. They totally WRECKED the entire place. Look at that:

What is wrong with those people?!?

The blog kind of glosses over the fact that this happened in Italy. It's a different dynamic in a different country. That being said, while I am not a big fan of the Catholic church I do not agree with desecrating other people's religious symbols or tomes.

Tens of thousands of people had turned out to demonstrate peacefully in Rome.

Television pictures from the city showed streets packed with protesters waving banners, close to the Colosseum.

However militants dressed in black infiltrated the crowd and began attacking property. Offices belonging to the Italian defence ministry were set on fire, some cars were burnt including an armoured police vehicle, in addition to attacks on cash dispensers and bank and shop windows.

The militants were challenged by other protesters, the BBC's David Willey reports from Rome. "No to violence!" they shouted and tried to restrain them. The injured included at least 30 police officers.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty obvious, but since the media seems to be conflating overseas protests with OWS it doesn't hurt to point out the differences.
